It sucks for Schiano. But any employer could decline a candidate for stuff that’s “baggage.”

I wouldn't be happy with the hire either but Tennessee fans have appeared batshit crazy and my bs detector has been buzzing for hours on all their angst being over hearsay of what he saw or didn’t see while at Penn State.

I’m just glad it’s not us.

Ok, so now allegation = quilt?

Lord help us, but I'm not going to ruin a man's reputation and means to support his family based on a mere allegation.

I'll tell you who's wrong, it's who you see when you look in the mirror.

So why wasn't Schiano ever implicated in a lawsuit, where the standard of proof is much lower than for a crime?

Ah, wait, I thought you said crime. Deleted a long response.

What I wonder is Cutcliffe not interested? Seems to me that would be a decent choice for Tennessee, he has a clean reputation as far as I know and he has done a pretty good job at Duke. Tennessee is at the point where they need to shite or get off the pot.

The shite of it is, if they were this close to signing Schiano, common sense would dictate that was the best coach they could get. Now not only are the not getting him, but you know where the bar is set and nobody better than him is headed that way for sure.

I believe Joe Pa knew, I believe folks in the AD’s office knew and the Adm.

Where I find an issue I don’t believe Schiano saw anything and told only Bradley if he did.

As for McQueary? He actually did see it happening and has spent years trying to clear his name. The truth is McQueary has put infinitely more effort in recent years to explain why he didn’t do more than he did to expose it and protect kids at the time when he himself witnessed it.

We know from victims' accounts that multiple coaches walked in on Sandusky during the time Schiano was an assistant on the staff. Sandusky told the kids to play it off as wrestling.

Now that's not enough to arrest the guy, but it's enough that I wouldn't want him as my football coach.

I’m pissed at Tennessee fans because they’re using this Paterno stuff to cover up the fact that they’re mad it’s not Gruden.

Schiano dodged a bullet with that shite program.

Good luck finding your next coach...

There is no proof that the man did know. Social media just put a bullet in that mans head.

Honestly, child rape or no...most of our programs should have done what UT did at one point or another. Retrospectively, I'd chain myself to Rupp doors to prevent Billy G ever being hired.

But UT is still hot trash juice.

Whether or not Schiano is guilty of what he is accused of is pretty irrelevant from Tennessee's perspective. They can't have the face of their program be associated in any way with that period of Penn State football history.

If Schiano is totally innocent, this situation is unfortunate for him, but reality is that you can face consequences for the actions of those you associate with.

If any program deserved the DEATH PENALTY ... it was Penn State ... and Sandusky literally deserves the DEATH PENALTY.

frick Pedo State forever, and I really DGAF that anyone associated with Pedo State during that time gets hit with shrapnel, misfortune, etc.

And for the people who defend harming children ... I hope you die, too.
