The rules are pretty clear and draw a black and white line: if you sign a contract with an NFL team, you can’t return to the college ranks. They signed.

From what I've read in rulings, doesn't seem to be a timing issue.
FIve years is five years. I don't see anything in the ruling saying it's just this year.

How do you cut a player from the roster if he was never on the roster? Why was Dae’quan Wright listed on Cleveland’s roster on 8/14/26 if he was never on Cleveland’s roster?

It’s a one off, single year issue for a very small segment of the 2022 class and it’s all because the NCAA bungled this beyond imagination and doubled down on its error instead of correcting it.

Both tried out for Browns.
Neither made the Browns official 53 man roster or practice squad.
Both are currently eligible to play college football under TROs.
