You just pointed out that they competed to make it to 4 championship games, that pretty well admits they have been competitive. By the way, how many championship games has OU played in? None because when we left you didn’t have enough teams and this years will end up knocking you out when you lose to TCU.

I'm a long-time Mizzou guy who loved the Big 8 days. Having said that, to me the only thing that needs to be brought up to end any discussion about the conferences is the issue of the "leaving the conference" process.

We hear "Grant of Rights" and monetary penalties and other legal things which I'm not smart enough to understand from every conference except.....the SEC.

You want to leave the SEC? Fine. Write a letter stating such and you're gone. You know why? (drumroll please) Because no one would ever want to.

This is great. Finally Mizzou, A&M and the rest of the SEC can come together and agree on something because we all hate UT. Mizzou is hot right now and it would be unmerciful what they would do to the Longhorns in a bowl matchup and it would be glorious to watch!

A&M wanted to go to the SEC, TX to the Pac 12. The Baylor grad Governor, Ann Richards, the Tech Lt Gov, Bob Bullock, and Tech House Speaker, Pete Laney, threatened to cut off state funds if that happened. The compromise was a merger with the Big 8 that took their alma maters with us. It's that simple.

That's a fact, Jack!

The replay of the Texas Tech game is nowhere to be found. I wonder why...

This. It's like that old saying about government: "Don't steal, the government hates competition." UH joined the SWC and began kicking arse. What happens? They go on probation. SMU starts kicking arse. What happens? They go on probation. Same with the Big 12. Baylor starts kicking arse, Art Briles is banished and now they're 1-11. Don't think the SEC is any different. Hugh Freeze beat Bama back-to-back years and nearly a third consecutive time. What happens? You guessed it.

This is some tinfoil hat shite right here. So Bama is keeping everybody down in the SEC with chicanery (like Texas and the BIG XII-n-stuff) but i don't see any of you beating a path to leave the conference.

Baylor had thugs raping coeds on campus The only people Baylor has to blame for bringing down their program is Art Briles and Baylor.

The reality is that pretty much all of the former SWC schools were corrupt years ago in their former conference, and they're corrupt in some capacity still to this very day. They are corrupt from the University level all the way down to the high school level. Not much has changed since the 80s in the state of TX regarding football.

It's not the arrogance of university of Texas as aggie would have you believe. It's the arrogance of Texans in general, and it applies to all of their programs.

That's all really just a distraction from the fact Texas has always only wanted to play in a conference that they dominated in every way.

One more data point for this.

Texas decides (like A&M) that having a "rivalry" game on Thanksgiving is a tradition that needs to continue, even if it is not A&M-Texas. Inertia, and all that.

We work out with LSU that we will do our home games on Thanksgiving day, and away games on Saturday. This is our tradition, so if LSU wants to do it differently for their home games, who are we to argue? Now, it seems, we have settled on it always being on Saturday. Move on, and all that.

Texas may or may not keep the game on T-day. What they HAVE insisted on, though, is that it will always be a home game for them. TCU and Tech will alternate as the opponent, but it will always be in Austin.

Just selfish, arrogant bastards.

League distributed 34.8 mil to each school for 2016-2017 season. Maybe I am missing something...how is that unequal?

This coming from Texas lapdog! Texas hasn't done anything since McCoy and Vince Young were qbs. I know that OU butts are sore as heck after letting Texas ram their steers up it without olive oil.

Yeah we're really trapped under Texas' thumb and suffering as a program.
