I got a reply from Freek on the TV/Movie Board a couple months ago. He just said his medical profession doesn’t give him the time to screw around on his pc anymore. I miss his sense of humor too OP. As a matter of fact I bet Freek is responsible for a good many posters finding Tigerdroppings just to see his work. Chicken should send Freek a Christmas card per annum.

lsufreek did it right. He went out on top and will always be a legend

Spurrier and Miles were made for an artist like freek to bring joy to the masses and he delivered magic

Seeing these old videos makes me think about lsufreek’s heyday. Will the period from 2010-2015 ever be matched again in SEC history? So many polarizing people and events involved.

-Nick Saban and Alabama becoming Nick Saban and Alabama
-Gene Chizik, Trooper Taylor, Cam Newton and his dad, and the most obvious pay-for-play scheme since ever that became the ultimate jimmy rustler because they actually got away with it
-Petrino’s peccadillos followed by “Smile!” followed by Bert
-Les Miles and his ups and downs
-Spurrier still roaming the sidelines
-Derek Dooley followed by Butch Jones as Tennessee slowly sank to the bottom of the ocean
-The Camback, the Kick Six, the Prayer at Jordan-Hare
-The Game of the Century followed by 1/9/12 followed by the screen to Yeldon
-Leonard Fournette manhandling fools and getting LSU fans all riled up until Reuben Foster and Derrick Henry shut them the frick up (this is false, actually, they’re still talking about him like the second coming of Herschel)
-The epic demolishment of Notre Dame in what was supposed to be their return to glory
-Johnny Football
-Kevin Sumlin
-Gus Malzahn as the Saban-killer
-Mullen making Mississippi State actually relevant
-Freeze making Ole Miss actually relevant even while they killed off poor Colonel Reb in favor of a fricking bear
-Urban retiring from Florida for “health reasons,” then pretty much immediately going to Ohio State
-Tennessee lost a game to LSU that they had already won
-Lane Kiffin’s return to the SEC as an assistant at the biggest rival of the school he had formerly coached and then jilted

I know there’s more that I’m missing. What a great time to be an SEC fan. This site was priceless back then. The last few years have felt antiseptic in comparison. There have been some great moments here and there, but it just hasn’t been the same.

He started a goodbye thread on the OT when he started his new career and basically said he was retiring from the board. Glad he still comes back and posts every now and then.

I miss the action, too. I don't even have photoshop anymore.

At first I was just kinda burnt out on gifs, but working in hospice full-time now has really kind of ruined me. I find myself so serious lately. I'll see a funny gif someone else may have done and I'll think "I never would have thought of that." Before, even if I was taking a gif break, my mind would still be working out movie scenes that fit a sports headline.

I almost wanna get the $10/month photoshop and do some gifs just to confirm to myself I'm not dead inside. Maybe if LSU beats Bama, I might take up the challenge.

That's some hard but admirable work. You are helping more than you will probably ever know.

Damn, we were really looking forward to your return before 2030.

God bless ya for that, bro. Incredibly noble profession but it has to take a serious mental toll. I miss your work as well but I'm glad that you can still make it here now and then.

You shouldn't have been downvoted. There's truth in there.

From 2007 to 2011, LSU was relevant. Sure, I'd always take shots at them if they lost, but I really enjoyed showing that love-able goofball Les kicking someone's arse that was supposed to be smarter than him.

It was great fun doing non-LSU gifs, but it was the LSU ones that kept me going. With LSU going a long stretch not being a perrenial contender, always making other schools only look good isn't as fun.

Add in the hospice gig for the past 5 years, and it kinda put the nail in the gif-making coffin. But you're right, a win over Bama would do wonders.
