If your team loses early in the SEC tournament it’s because your team threw midweek guys/Johnnywholestaff and the head coach just doesn’t care. National seed problems/regional host luxuries, amirite?
If your team wins in the SEC tournament it’s because you are the better team and baseball is a tournament sport, SECT is good warmup for the ncaat, amirite?

If you throw midweek guys in the SECT and still win, it’s because your team is that much better. If you lose with a midweek guy, your best arms are still rested anyways

Do you really think Van Horn cares about the SECt? He never has when we are a National seed.
We have already won every series and won the SEC. We are a lock for the #1 overall seed.

When you’ve locked up the #1 National seed it is absolutely meaningless.
Will be a good opportunity to develop some players and rest the core so better hope we don’t beat you.

The SECT is fun. Usually as talented as Omaha.
But here’s the thing. It’s pretty much only good to give you a slight bump from bubble host to host or host to national seed. You don’t even have to win it to get it.
I promise if you go out and sweep Hoover but don’t get out of the regional your season is a failure.

Winning the tourney is cool and all, but not to worried about it. More worried about the ncaat at this point.

We can see the Vols baseball team is new to having something to play for at the end of the year. Winning the SEC tournament isn't worth burning out your top arms before the REAL tournament starts. I hope Carolina throws Johnny Dindntplay and heads back Tuesday night.Ray Tanner used this approach and he played for and won multiple National Championships.

You can tell how much teams care about it as they pitch 5th and 6th best starting pitchers. Literally no one who was locked up the national #1 seed is going to care.

We'd appreciate it if all of you decided to play your freshmen and walk ons and pitch position players, please.
