Clark, you’re overestimating your importance to this website if you think you are capable of making me post less.

I didn’t think anyone on this board knew I exist.

Alabama has finished in the Top 3 in the conference in both scoring defense and total defense in 13 of the last 14 seasons. The only season we finished outside that margin (2019), we were still #5 in total defense and #3 in scoring defense. The defense has definitely taken a step back relative to where it was prior to 2018, however to say the defense has "not been good" ignores statistics. They just haven't been elite.

The regression of Alabama’s football program is due to a change of offensive philosophy. Alabama’s offense became more finesse, which caused their defense to become weaker. Their defense has not been good the last couple years.

Kirby is about to have a stranglehold on college football. Recruits are already taking note. If Alabama doesn’t make the playoff this year, they will slip right back into the Shula years.

Saban is not the same. He is a weak old man that shits in his pants. He has lost his edge. There’s nobody that will come close to replacing what he built. Alabama is about to slip into oblivion.

Have a downvote from a Dawg fan. This entire post fails in the attempt to either rise to the level of being well thought out commentary or sink to the level required of a good troll. Either do one well or don't post.

Really seems to have been hurting.

Your dumb trolls are usually filled with "worst take" moments, but this is among the worst. The closer comparison may be the post-Bear Perkins/Curry years.

Bama will make a good hire, and Saban will leave behind the program in good shape to be sustained.

Yes, all good things come to an end. But, one season is not do or die for a program, especially the all-time best program in the history of the sport. Even the leanest stretches in the modern era have had some 10+ win seasons and conference championships.

When was that exactly? Back in the 90's ?

Bama didn't become relevant until 2008

Not sure if I agree or not...but word is Saban is going back to a smash mouth, "run the bawl" first offense centered around defense. If so, that might make them a handful to deal with again.

3 x 10 win seasons (on the field), a conference championship win, and missed the opportunity to play for another due to eligibility in the sanctioned riddled "Mike" era of Bama football, which was the worst 10 years since the 50s.

All things considered, many would take that. Especially since it led to Saban to Bama.

But, to say they were not relevant UNTIL 2008 is absurd.

No it isn’t. Do you ever stop making hyperbolic bad posts. Alabama is going to be fine.

Shouldn’t you guys be getting ready for Middle Tennessee St? After all, it’s the only Tennessee team you’ve beaten recently.

Pete Golding happened. Worst hire of Saban's career. He isn't the scapegoat... his drunk arse really does suck.

But come back and talk once your program has gone 15+ straight years of every signed recruit leaving with at least 1 NC ring if they stayed just 3 years.

Pete Golding lost his collective mind against the elite offensive teams. It's been his MO since 2018. A lot of his failings have shown up in the biggest games. Give him a pro-set team and he and coach Saban will scheme you into oblivion. Give him a HUNH spread look with elite talent and coaching and, too many times, all hell broke loose.

Alabama has won Natty's in 1960's, 1970's, 1990's, 2000's, 2010's and 2020.
I doubt we live long enough to see their demise!
