This Brendan Sorsby kid has screwed himself for life.

Does this kid think he is going to have an NFL career or is bankable candidate for sponsorship in any arena? He should have just bowed out and try to rehab his athletic career. He is now a black sheep that most of the country will not accept in any manner. If he has a gambling addiction, then a drug or alcohol addiction could possibly be a future problem. He is not someone who now has a bright future and trust me... Texas Tech will cut him loose if he doesn't produce BIG. Just a rant about the stupid shite that CFB has become.

Hate to break it to you but the NFL doesnt care about criminal activities.
College football fans only care because Texas Tech is a threat with him. If it was a no name player then no one would care.
You can downvote all of this but its true.

Not sure what Sorsby did is criminal, but it's a big no no in sports.
Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022 NFL season for gambling on football games he was not involved in.

Hate to break it to you but just an attitude will sink your draft prospects... ask the Sanders kid how that worked out and this is waaaaay worse.

A couple NFL head coaches have hinted that he'll never play in the NFL. Though I tend to agree with you that someone will take a chance on him.

If it was a no name player, he would have lost the injunction (or never even sued) and this would never have even been an issue.
At the end of the day, this is a direct risk to the public's trust in the on-the-field product. And once the public can no longer trust the product, it's over. There's a reason why this is 100% against the rules in every single sports league in the country (and I'd venture to guess the world).

Is he good? Then he’ll play.
Is he average? He won’t.

He will have 5 million in his bank account. I hope I get “screwed” like that.

Sorsby will forever taint any game he plays in, any mistake will be seen as potential point shaving/throwing games. No GM will touch him due to the optics and backlash from fans after any loss

Bingo. There was an OL at I think Iowa or somewhere like that who said he bet $10 on a womens bball game. Don’t even think it was part of an investigation or leaked. He just came forward with it on his own. He was banned from football permanently

Martha Stewart gambled on stocks with inside info, and she went to prison for it.
Sorsby was doing the same thing. If it's not illegal, it should be.
Also, I bet he wasn't 21 years old, the minimum age to gamble in IL. Sounds crimey to me. Small crime, but a crime.

For most athletes these days, that will be gone in a year with nothing to show for it. Give me one million and I'm set for life.

Tech sure is investing a lot on this guy. I had to look him up and not impressed. Below is his Wiki page. There is a reason Tech is called "sand aggy".

Holy shite. This is impressive. This might actually be the most inaccurate response possible.

They don’t care about criminal activity but they care about integrity of the shield and he won’t be in it

I’m sure they could work up a wire fraud case on him.

I'm not convinced he plays much, if at all this season, but if he does, he would have to have an insane year for an NFL team to take a gamble on him.
He's just too much of a risk.
