Hawaii, Louisiana Lafayette, MSU and Cincy, so brave of the dawgs to wear black against those powerhouses!!

Mark Richt was given permission by coach Saban to go to the Clemson vs ALABAMA game in '08' so he could watch his son. That was an opportunity to scout BAMA by an SEC HC and coach Saban was still magnanimous enough to say go ahead.
Richt, a few weeks later, thanks coach Saban by closing practice and basically accusing coach Saban of spying on his practices because he coached for Bill Belichick. Wrong guy and wrong team Mark.
Add then Richt thinks it's a good idea to break out the special black jerseys for the occasion, and of course, the fans wearing their funeral dress as well. Mark, no doubt, feeling good about a Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Morino, AJ Green led team ranked in the top 5. Big azz mistake.
Lots of mistakes were made by Mark Richt leading up to that game and they all fueled the new beast in the West that made their dramatic presence known in the now-infamous "Blackout" extravaganza.
