There was a total of 1 point scored in the last 2:10 of the UF-Oral B game last night?

Didn’t watch, but good grief. What kind of ball-slapping ineptness was going on?

I think both teams were really tired. The guards on both teams played a ton of minutes, and the pace was pretty ridiculous.

Coach White coached nearly the worst last 7 minutes of a major college basketball that I can remember. With clearly the better (more talented) team and a 9 point point lead, he simply let the air out of the ball. ORU hits a couple of 3s, which they shoot well, and they're within 1 possession while he continues to show the game down...and they've lost all momentum, AND now they can't get it back!
I'll swear that it looked like he was taking ORU and the points!

So, basically Guy V and Phi Slamma Jamma all over again?

Probably the most inept example of coaching I have ever seen in the tournament. Only thing worse would be if Loyola Marymount had tried the same strategy in the early 90's.

Had to take a look at SurlyHorns after that. Quite a slap fest going on there among those who now claim he’s a loser and the people who insist they knew this 3 years ago.

I swear. We have our tussles and cranks on this site, but sometimes that place has a toxicity level that rivals Twitter.

This. His reason was we turned it over so slowing it down could stop turnovers.

But we were up double digits while turning it over a lot. Clearly that was not an issue because our speed gave them to many issues. White is a good recruiter, bad developer, average game planner, and absolutely horrific in game coach. It has been true every year and it never changes. Until he is gone, UF will always have preseason buzz they fail to live up to.c

Most message boards do. Most of us were pissed, but not at all surprised. This is the Texas basketball fan experience under Shaka Smart, so act accordingly

Purposefully slowing the game down against a mid-major seeded in the teens is coaching malpractice. Even a mid-major like ORU that tends to play up tempo. Playing up tempo against P-6 athletes for 40 minutes is a hell of a lot different than playing up tempo against the competition in their league for 40 minutes. Compress the game, force turnovers, make 3s. Those factors appear in literally every big early round upset in the tournament. Just giving them the compressed game is insane.

It was hilarious, when UF sped up the pace, they blew ORU down the court every freaking time and ended up with a dunk, layup or open 3.

White sat on the ball for 10+ freaking minutes.

I don't even know why I watch UF anymore. Every game is the freaking same exact outcome with White

This is so sad but true. UF should have lost the 1st game with his bone head coaching down the stretch. Only Mike White would find a way to lead by 5 in the last 30 seconds with the ball (I think) and find a way to go to overtime. Oh, I forgot that he had a 12 point lead against Wisconsin in 2016 and was bailed out in OT by Chiozza's buzzer beater where he also slowed the ball down with a huge lead. I am totally positive that he will never, ever take a team to a Final Four, let alone win one.

He's never made an SEC Tournament final. He's never beaten Florida State. That alone should get him fired. No UF players have been drafted in the NBA under him. Mike White is not a very good coach overall and UF is not the place to learn on the job.

This is really crazy

KeVaughn Allen is the first to come to mind, he had a very interesting career at Florida

I truly can't understand any Gator fan that still believes in him to be honest. It seems very clear he just is not good enough..but some people will die in something.

Tre Mann will get drafted this year but it's crazy to think that he's been at UF since 2015 and hasn't had 1 player drafted. He's had some good recruits too. Just not developing them on and off the court.

Foley really blew it on a few late hires. He tried to catch lightning in a bottle like with Billy D by hiring young up and coming coaches, in Muschamp and White. UF doesn't need coaches to learn on the job. UF needs proven coaches that have won coaching big league athletics. IMO

And now Noah Locke enters the transfer portal. Good grief.
