The correct call was made.
No, it wasn't. If there had been no whistle, it would have been correct. The whistle that WAS BLOWN over rides everything though.
The correct call would have been admitting that the whistle was blown, inadvertant or not. Then give Tennessee possession at their 25.

even if they say they blew the whistle they still fricked up by blowing the whistle. it was a complete frick up.

Would people be bitching about this if the td was not allowed?

There are multiple reasons the result was RIGHT...
The official was wrong about his knee being down.
No Vandy player was in position to stop the defender streaking to the endzone.
If The Flash was on Vandy's team, he would have needed help getting through the Vol escort.
It was absolutely RIGHT...but it wasn't by the book "Correct".

Of course! It would have been a blown call even if they went by the whistle and made us go from the 25 and try and score.
The whole play got fricked because the sec refs are dumb as rocks.

Would have been equally as bad of a screw up by the refs.

So we are going to be like baseball and have different ground rules at each stadium?

This is like the time the officials reviewed the replay on the jumbotron and correctly awarded a fumbled ball to LSU (against Bama)...this is back before we had a replay booth.
They still missed the interference call on the punt that caused the fumble and the SEC ruled that you can only show a replay once which still stands til this day.

The end result was correct. Eric Gordon intercepted the ball and was never down.
It doesn't matter any way, the game is over.

This is what it boils down to.

Say what you want, but the rules are the rules. They are there for a reason. If coaches and officials don't like them, they can propose and vote on changes. Without rules, we end up with the crap you see in several Olympic sports- a bunch of judges controlling the outcomes of games.
The bottom line is this- the entire crew needs to be FIRED on Monday. They made a huge mistake, which sucks, but they should have admitted to it and moved on. Refs make mistakes that alter the outcomes of games all the time. It's part of the job. Lies and cover-ups, however, are not. It took the whole crew to do this. They all need to go. This is about sending a message to the rest of the SEC officials.

Vandy players still kept going after the whistle.
This.
If they had stopped after hearing the whistle I think the replay officials would have called the play dead.
I don't think the players heard the whistle so the replay guy just went with the outcome that should have happened. I'll take justice over process. Tenn deserved the win.
