I don't know. It depends on how bad this stuff really was. I'm sure we aren't getting the entire story here. Having a coach encourage professional players to bring lawsuits against the NCAA seeking eligibility once they have moved on isn't a good look. What all went into it? Did Kiffin entice these players by promising them NIL packages more than they would have made in the NFL? If so, that is even more egregious.
My personal feeling on the matter is that if LSU and Lane Kiffin worked to undermine the NCAA or the SEC they should be punished for that. Not knowing all of the details I don't know what that punishment should be, if it's even applicable.
For now though it's fun to watch. LSU fans seem to think they would be fine with being booted out. So what's the problem?

They definitely looked good. I thought that Clemson would beat them. Figured that Clemson would be a lot better than they appear to be and that LSU would also be distracted. Kudos to Lane for being able to keep them focused on the game and to play with a chip on their shoulder. It was impressive.
That said, what good is it if LSU ends up with some sort of major penalties due to all of this? Even if they don't expel them, they're talking about post season bans, scholarship reductions, coaching suspensions, etc.

The damage is done. Even if Thursday's vote is a nothing burger the relationship may be too far gone.

This is also my thinking to an extent. How do you continue on after lawsuits have been litigated? "Hey Sankey, sorry about that. No hard feelings?"
LSU has put the SEC into a position where the SEC has sued their university and their coach in federal court. The SEC is looking at it like it is, obviously, a lack of Institutional control and also bucking the authority of the SEC itself. Try this sort of shite at your place of employment and see how it works out for ya.

Courts don’t care about fairy tales.
Players filed suit, SEC stepped into shite, SEC got enjoined in TRO. LSU has yet to so much as roster players or counter sue the conference.
Multiple other players are playing at other schools on TROs.
You and the conference look retarded, and no… this will not go the way the SEC wants if it winds up in federal court.

They were cut before they made a team and recruiting isn't against the rules, lots of teams did that with these players.
Surely Alabama didn't tell Bediako he'd make more money at Bama than in the G-League.

This is not about Alabama. I do not know why nothing was done about that situation, but it is what it is. The SEC has since set out these guidelines and this will be the way it is moving forward.

SEC said rules haven't changed, but been restated. Their words. Rules have always outlawed this.
The equivalent of that would be LSU playing these guys this past weekend, the TRO expires, and LSU stops playing them. What do you think would've happened?

They moved on to the the NFL because they thought they had no other option. Then found out they could have stayed in college. The NCAA fricked up and is the reason why all of this bull shite is happening today.

See, that's a bit disingenuous...
No college can outbid an NFL team in reality, not if we're talking guaranteed roster spots. Because college has a limited time to play (despite the Pavia and Chambliss rulings), whereas the NFL will play you until your body ages out of it. Much higher ceiling on earning potential, too.
The only point this is an issue, is practice squad vs P4 impact player for a year.
