According to the google, the Bulldog Collective had $20.5 million for 2025; they budgeted $6.5 million towards football.
By comparison every other SEC school committed over $10 million towards football. Six schools spent over $15 million. LSU and Texas each spent more than $20 million.
And all of that pales when compared to how much Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas Tech spent.
States problem is their total NIL fund is less than what many other schools are spending on football alone.

Between Cohen and Leach, State probably had the worst combination of leadership for the beginning of the NIL era. Cohen thought it would be over quickly and Leach didn't believe he needed elite players to win. Being at the forefront is important because you get to see the results of your actions (or inactions for State) which motivates the money to keep coming in. Two conference wins in 3 seasons isn't motivating anyone and State is having to spend a fairly large percentage of their budget simply retaining players that have won 2 conference games in 3 years.

The most encouraging thing for State fans is that Cohen is no longer the albatross around their neck.

"Just fire Lebby and hire a Cignetti": football-ignorant State fans.

It's evident that he is in over his head as an SEC head coach.
Some people need to check their egos and give Dan Mullen a call. Mullen would immediately have State playing 7-5 ball. Hell, he won 9 games with Chris Relf as QB in his second season.

That’s not true. We spent a little over 12 million on this years team. We have just under 20 million raised for 2026 football but tbh a lot of that is commitments and not cash in hand yet. Some may get pulled due to not believing in Lebby. We will see.

I really wanted to see Lebby covered in mayo.

Keenum should have been out a while ago. He doesn’t have what it takes to lead the university to be excellent in either athletics or academics.

Keenum was the #2 in the U.S. Department of Agriculture under Bush. He was hired for political connections, which is the only thing he has been good at (getting money from DC), and that's enough for the state government to look the other way at his ineptitude. Throw in that he politicked his way to the College Football Playoff Board of Directors and the average person thinks he's an incredible leader.

Crowing about past accomplishments is an odd flex for a state fan. The 90’s? Okay, we dominated you for about thirty years, from the late 40’s through the early 70’s and again in the 2020’s, ongoing.

We are incredibly poorly managed. Small minded simple folk wiling to accept whatever crumbs we receive. I fricking hate our administration.

CFB got a lot more complex in some ways but a lot simpler in others.
Money always ran things behind the scenes…..now, it openly runs things.
MSU needs to hire money people. People that know how to bring in the money and how to properly make the money work. We were lucky enough to have guys like Walker Jones already in the building.

LOL! What.
With Lebby, you had a top 5 offense and won 10 games. Post Lebby, 113th ranked Offense and this year 90th!
You issue was not Lebby nor his offense. It was your trash defense ranked 77th.

I read where Lebby won the support of boosters due to the improvements and have put the money in.

Yep, not all OU fans wanted him gone. I’d love to see his offense with our defense now. The situational awareness and tiring out the defense were big issues for sure, but I think they could have been resolved with more experience. A lot of our fans hated the “gimmick” offense. I think 6 teams will be running the same offense next year in the SEC.

Solved with deeper talent and conditioning. Arbuckle is an Air Raid guy. Generally TOP is a problem there too. So in looking it up, TOP under lebby was 29:03 vs Arbuckle's 29:44.
That suggests that it was simply a defensive issue. You have Lebby's #3 offense with this years #7 defense and nobody is beating you.
