Have we not already arrived at the fact that LSU has been detrimental to the SEC? I mean, look at the lawsuit.
LSU can and should just admit fault, take whatever punishments are coming(and at this point you should probably just take them this year) and then everyone can move on.
Just because a judge grants a TRO doesn't mean it's an order that the SEC has to roster or play them. And that should be the standard for all SEC teams going forward.

Ole Miss and Trinidad say hello.

The first action of the SEC was to clarify the rules on the topic.
But apparently those aren't the actual rules. Apparently, just the intent to break the rule is the problem.

doesn't establish that the circumstances, governing rules, or legal obligations were identical.
This is where Sankey is especially fricked. He created a new rule while lsu was actively trying to get players eligible. LSU then challenged that ruling, and now here we are.
He selectively enforced rules and set new ones. Ole miss has a player right now on their team that signed a contract for the pistons. Crickets.
This is all selectivism, hypocrisy, and again, if you fail to acknowledge that, your either disingenous or an idiot.

Carry on.

No, my specific post was on the detriment LSU has caused the SEC. It’s obvious that LSU has cost the SEC money and time (detriment), therefore the member schools should sack up and vote.
BTW, I love how the SEC thought they would need am injunction to have their meeting to vote LSU out….only to have LSU tell them publicly to have their meeting.
Hahaha

You're treating your assertion that LSU violated no rules as an established legal conclusion. It isn't. Whether LSU's conduct provides grounds for disciplinary action is a question that must be evaluated under those agreements.
They didn't violate the rule, it doesn't have to be an established legal conclusion. You either violate the rule or you don't, they didn't.

The SEC's authority to enforce its rules and its obligation to follow those same rules are entirely consistent positions. One doesn't cancel out the other.
No doubt, and LSU didn't break the rule yet you're here saying the conference should consider ejecting LSU.
3down10 is saying LSU should admit fault and take punishments.
It's a moving target.

And this is why I get more and more OK with the idea of kicking LSU out each day.
Which I can't believe I'm saying.

I’ve been here since the dick measuring began.
BTW, you act as though it’s hard to fathom LSU not being in the SEC, yet your post history decidedly says otherwise.

Seems like hurt feelings, if we're being honest.
You say LSU should abide within conference rules, they have. Yet you're still mad.
Why is that?

You're confusing the fact that LSU never rostered the players with the larger issue of the SEC's authority to enforce its eligibility rules. Those are two separate questions.
I'm not confusing anything.
The SEC cannot legally implement rules that violate anti-trust or labor protections. Despite any desires of people in Alabama and Mississippi, it also cannot re-institute its ban on black players like it had back in the late 50s and early 60s.
It pretty clearly is acting on behalf of the NCAA in this matter. We know because it didn't attempt to act during previous TRO scenarios. That's a fact pattern that is a major problem for the SEC.
quote:
Alabama played Bediako while a temporary court order permitted it, then stopped when that order was no longer in effect. Alabama complied with the court throughout the process.
You just stated almost verbatim what LSUs intent was. It was going to follow the court orders like every single example that has come before it. FYI, there are hundreds of examples of this already within the country and the SEC. This is the ONLY scenario in which the TRO was not honored.
quote:
If LSU has acknowledged it won't roster the players and considers the matter moot, fine. That still doesn't make the underlying dispute over conference authority disappear.
What relief was being sought? What act of conference authority is LSU challenging? Certainly, you can point this out, right?

More fantasy. The SEC could close this case down at any moment but they don't appear to be doing so.
This is true.
How about you go on record. What do you think the direct result will be of this case?
Are you bold enough to answer?

Alabama has played LSU since I started watching college football 50+ years ago.
It'll be weird without LSU, but people have a tendency to adapt and move on quickly. And the more LSU fights, the more I'm in favor of it. Putting yourself above the rest of the conference is not a small offense.
Overall I would have never in a million years guessed this would have happened.

This is all saber-rattling and nothing will happen.

That’s because don’t have the ability to see it happening to Alabama.
