And that's what caused you to run away. Even your AD said yesterday that's the reason you left.

We left because we know Texas. You inbreds allow them to push you around, which is why there is zero respect for you. Oklahoma only does what Texas tells them

I will admit you win on the field.

But you lose off the field.

Texas makes everyone in the Big 12 (or whatever the frick they are now) as their personal bitch.

You cowtow to them on everything off the field - you did beat them on the field, but that isn't much of an accomplishment these days. TCU, ISU, and others do as well

Oklahoma could have blazed their own path, but were too scared to do so

Meh, I’d rather have Arkansas in the pod to retain the rivalry game

I'd rather play LSU Thanksgiving weekend than freaking MO but thankfully TX being in our pod would make that stupid rivalry they're trying to make us create with MO go right out of the window. We love to hate TX. I hope we move Thanksgiving to them in Jerry World and let this Aggies series run out while all of this is in motion.

Tha frick baw? I am calling it like I see it. You beat them consistently on the field. Like a drum. But they control the TV contract. And that is more important to them.

And just a reminder...

I am fine with this. Every team should have one rival in each pod. It is time we let go of the 2nd and 3rd rivalries.

I would love it if the SEC put Mizzou, A&M and Texas in a pod. Throw in Arky.

Playing Texas is not the problem. Dealing with their fanbase and the politics is something else. You are like a cancer, a virus. One of the best things about living outside of Texas is picking which Texas fans I interact with

Most of them are insufferable

Shoot me now if that happens

Stomping a mud-hole in them on national TV contracts they have control over is pretty sweet.

Oh and one more thing about TV contracts, TX is a massive, heavily populated state. Yes they have media influence because of that, because that's how media works. That's how business works entirely. That TX is a massive market for all things, not just TV, isn't some insidious plot.

My understanding is that each team will have a permanent rival in each pod. You will play every team in your pod. That is 3 games. You will also play every team in another pod. Which is 4 games. You will rotate the pods each year so that you will play everybody in the conference at least once every 3 years. Then you will play the your permanent rival in the other 2 remaining pods. That makes in 9 games in all. 3 + 4 + 2 = 9 games.

I got a spreadsheet out and tried to guess which would be the permanent rivals for each team and this is what I came out with using the teams in this pod from the post.

Texas - Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida
Oklahoma - LSU, Tennessee, Georgia
Arkansas - Ole Miss,Auburn, South Carolina
Missouri - Miss St, Vanderbilt, Kentucky

Texas A&M - Texas, Georgia, Alabama
LSU - Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn
Ole Miss - Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee
Miss St - Missouri, Kentucky, Vanderbilt

Alabama - South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M
Auburn - Georgia, Arkansas, LSU
Tennessee - Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss
Vanderbilt - Kentucky, Missouri, Miss St

Florida - Tennessee, LSU, Texas
Georgia - Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma
South Carolina - Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas
Kentucky - Vanderbilt, Miss St, Missouri

So Texas would play Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri every year because they are in the same pod with Texas. Texas would also play Texas A&M, Alabama and Florida because those teams are Texas permanent rivals.
