Honestly, this would just make the melt from some LSU fans even worse. They've banked their entire outlook on the belief that they're being persecuted and it's all Bama's fault. If the suspension is overturned, they'll go crazy trying to figure out how to react.

Old Dominion. The conference overturned the suspension.

Ah.

LINK

Does sound very similar type of situation.

quote:

Conference USA overturned a controversial targeting penalty against Old Dominion safety Justice Davila that came during Saturday night’s game at North Carolina State, and the senior from Erial, N.J., will play Saturday when the Monarchs host Texas-San Antonio .

Had the targeting penalty stood, he would have been suspended for the first half .

But still leaves the question of whether anyone in the SEC league office agrees that:
a) it wasn't targeting
and
b) they give a flying frick

I don't think you really want that.

Disagree. Chicken will definitely be all over this thread. Don't think he cares much for Katrina jokes.

I hope Sid stays, though. I love using him as the quintessential Bama fan.

But why would they? It wasn't a bad call.

Is the SEC review supposed to consider the players importance to their team and who the team plays next before issuing a penality?

When has a hostile crowd ever frightened Bama in BR?

If the SEC wanted to they could ask the NCAA officiating office to review the call and weigh in on it. They could then go with what they suggest. The kicker is the SEC office has to request it and we all know that isn’t going to happen.

Also LSU: "We're going to take our case to the SEC and get them to overturn White's suspension."

Per my understanding of the appeal process, the appeal goes to the NCAA rules committee

No problem. That's why we have Emmert on the payroll as well.

The SEC has to request it though. LSU cannot initiate it.

The SEC has Already reviewed the call though and upheld it. They won’t overturn that.

I am impressed with how well Pawl handles the more unreasonable LSU callers.

LSU should just suck it up. I mean, we’re talking about 1 player out of a roster of probably 100. Not that big of a deal.

Welp, add the redneck Darriel dawg fan to the list of idiots that are calling for LSU to intentionally injure the brother of their top QB recruit

The great triggering is upon us

I really wish this site (yes, I know Darriel was on Finebaum) would ban anyone who advocates for any player to get injured. Those people have something wrong with them mentally. It's disgusting.
