But I look forward to UTSA doing damage to a few more before this is all over.

I think there's a chance they beat ucla and go to omaha. It'll be hard to not root for them if they do.

Texas shows up to the SEC and suddenly we’re a weaker conference. Weird how it happens.

Too bad they have to make it past UCLA instead of one these SEC lightweights.

Sounds like you are choosing to live vicariously through the team that beat you, to make you feel better about losing to them.

I’m not disparaging you for it. Everyone does that… We did it with Stony Brook and the Chanticleers. Stony got thrashed and bounced, Coastal actually went on to win the championship.

Decided to root for your actual school, huh?

That's not it at all. I'm just impressed with them and it's hard not to root for the little guy.
I didn't lose a minute of sleep over those losses. We were clearly playing way above our skill level all season and it finally caught up to us. It happens.

I just love the sport. I'll keep watching even though we are out.

I think the SEC narrative has been pushed so much (justly or unjustly) that some of these teams are high on their own flatulence. Baseball is a gritty sport and when you play teams that have more competitiveness at the plate than you they end up beating you with much less talent.

True, and you also have the smaller schools who have made it this far are often heavy with upperclassmen. Whereas few SEC teams are. The grit and team mentality is going to usually be stronger with groups that have been together longer.

You get the privilege of playing in the SEC.

Could be worse, could be stuck playing in empty ballparks in the big 12 with random schools.

I realize this an internet not real world melt but in reality, Texas was a really good team, that when hot, was the best team in the country and just got cold at the wrong time.

I was in San Marcos the weekend Coastal Carolina was in town and caught a weekend game. Neither one of those teams looked remotely like SEC competition. Texas State looked like a high school squad that day, and Coastal couldn't get out of their own way. Yet, Texas State gave you fits this year and unless you brought your A game, Coastal beats you guys. And you can say the same about LSU or Arkansas or Tenn as well. Solid Mid-Majors are like .500 MLB teams. Capable of sweeping the best team as well as getting swept by the worst team.

And that brings us to Ron Washington.

Put the pipe down Vern.
If the SEC is so weak they why did the school want to come here?
Look back at the national titles in the 2 major sports and see what conference has won the most in the last decade. That should tell you all you need to know, but i am sure that is an anomaly in your mind.
Nice melt, i guess you had it figured out all along. You should be on staff with Schloss.

It's all good buddy! Everybody needs to melt sooner or later. The SECRant probably does a good job in saving marriages and pets by letting someone melt on here rather than real life....unless you yell, "Roll Tide!". Those tend to get real ugly.

Baseball Regionals are the most unpredictable events in sports because anything can and does happen. And that is what makes it great.
Nothing to do with the SEC being overrated.

We told all of you morons. But you couldn't stop bragging. The goal is not to win the SEC, it's to win in Omaha.
Y'all should know that, but it has apparently been 26 years since you've accomplished that, so maybe you weren't even alive then.

The braggart Texan mentality never fails to deliver the LOLz
