Pretty sure FSU called a timeout to challenge the play.

They did but you get your timeout back if you win the challenge

Not true. It wasn’t an untimed down. He explained they would have one play. Not untimed. Once the whistle blew, the clock would have started. If LSU didn’t snap it at the whistle, it would have ended.
This would've been true if FSU had not called a timeout after the review. LSU sucks. FSU was the better team, but FSU coaches were somehow stupider than LSU's in every facet of the game.

I will give you credit for that one. We passed on a hot commodity who knew Louisiana well.

The clock operator kept a second on the clock, but the game clock did not run with the play clock because the ref ruled that LSU would have 1 play, alternatively known as an untimed down

I think the only thing the refs did wrong on the play was rule he was outta bounds.

No

The second timeout is irrelevant

Florida State had to use a timeout to challenge the play because the refs suck

At that point it doesnt matter. They get the timeout back but the timeout still stops the clock.

The second timeout changed nothing

Y’all still don’t know what an untimed down is apparently. LSU didn’t get one tonight. Auburn didn’t get one in the Iron Bowl.

You’re not wrong and I explained that In the other thread. But the guy said they created a rule to give LSU an untimed down. I was explaining why he was incorrect. I was t explaining why the clock was stopped after the timeout.

Clock shouldn’t had stopped when it played went down inbounds. Clock should has started immediately after ball spotted and 1 second wouldn’t had been enough to get another play off.

LSU didn't get one tonight.

Auburn did get one in the Iron Bowl.

You can call a play with less than 3 seconds left, that's not an issue.

What is an issue is when you clock the ball with less than 3 seconds left, and then get a play after. That is what Auburn did.

No, you can snap the ball with 1 second left. LSU would have had another play no matter what.

It was untimed because the refs made a mistake, and then FSU called a timeout. There is no way to fix that. The only thing they can do is change the spot, which they did.

Yes, but I believe he only took the second timeout because the ref said LSU would one play (hinting at an untimed down)

So they took the second timeout because it was going to be stopped anyway
