Michigan, Washington and Texas better than Georgia?

Why does Oregon play Liberty in a bowl. Oregon is the most over-rated team in the history of sports and gets a pass for their bowl opponent.

I really don’t think there is a good comeback to that question. If it was truly about the best teams then Georgia would have been in and Washington out

So why then?
They lost at the wrong time and wasn’t a conference champion.

Because Liberty is undefeated.
If we are to believe many posters on here, Liberty is the one getting screwed. Since they are undefeated they should be in the playoffs. According to the logic of a vast number here.

Chadwell is a game plan guru and has a month to play. Doubt Nix plays. And, it’s Liberty’s Super Bowl. I’d put the Ducks on upset alert.

Better than UGA
But yeah, I think we are a lot better today than we were when we lost to Texas by 10 points. I bet Vegas will think so too.

Michigan played another "elite team" and won (Ohio State). The rest of their schedule was basically garbage, but they went undefeated and have an elite win.
Texas played another Top 10 team and won on the road (Alabama). And they get the exponential credit of it that Alabama then beat Georgia, putting them ahead of Alabama and the other good team Alabama beat.
Washington is a little more complicated because they didn't play another "elite" team but they did beat a very good Oregon team twice as well as some other pretty good teams (Arizona, Oregon State) and are undefeated.

The Fiesta Bowl is ground zero for those types of little guy upsets, too (even when the little guy is ranked higher).
1991 - Louisville over Alabama
1994 - Arizona over Miami
2001 - Oregon State over Notre Dame
2007 - Boise State over Oklahoma
2008 - West Virginia over Oklahoma
2014 - UCF over Baylor

Liberty is not P5.
But, as we have learned, there are P5 teams and coaches that matter, and those that do not.
The latter are the ones that got fricked over.
