I had front row seats for that one. The atmosphere, the food, the partying, the hospitality, the game...fricking 10/10. That weekend was incredible but it would've been even more fun had LSU won.

If I could change one thing about my college football life it would have been to sit my arse on the couch and watch the end of that game. I got so fricking pissed off when LSU completed the pass for a first down around our 10-yard line late in the game that I left my parents' house, where I was watching it with my dad, to drive home. I listened to the comeback on the radio in my car. Eli's call of the end of the game was pretty awesome, but still, I wish I had had just a little more faith so I could have seen that with my dad.

I learned my lesson, though. I was massively pissed off in 2014 too but I sat my arse on the couch and watched until the end when we pulled off another last-minute win.

God we fricking own LSU.

Nah, that play was just the culmination that we knew was coming. Whenever your team has the other on the ropes, yet loses, it’s the play that let them off the ropes that stings. In that game, it was the second and third downs when we were inside your 30. Bama was utterly unable to stop OBJ, yet we ran the ball both times, failed to convert, then missed the FG. At that point we just knew. Les just never had the sense to do what worked. He was always going to try to power it in the clutch.

That was a tough loss, all but forgotten after LSU whipped Bama in 2019.

I agree. For all their national championships, only LSU can claim to have the best CFB team in the history of the sport.

Meh, that game should have never had to come down to a last minute drive. Bama dominated the 1st half with short controlled passing and strictly running the A gap.
Built up a 14-3 lead.
Then Bama proceeds to throw only 7 times until the last drive of the game. The short routes were there all night and Bama decided to basically kneel on the ball for 28 minutes.
