No divisions, no pods.
Give everyone 3 permanent rivals and shuffle the scheduling from there. Best two conference records get the SEC title game.

I could actually live with that, but the West just wouldn't have much of an SEC feel, with only LSU and the Mississippi schools being OG. I guess Arkansas has been around long enough, but those other 4...
Of the original big 6, you have 5 on one side and LSU by their lonesome on the other. Sucks from a traditionalist standpoint, but new rivalries shall be born.

Any conference structure that doesn’t allow for a program to play every other university in the conference both home and away in a 4 year period or less is a failure in my opinion.

Nope.
You can't plan long term for a balanced schedule.
Just b/c a school is traditionally good (example: Tennessee) doesn't mean they always will be.
Plus if there really is going to be that much crying about balancing the schedules you are FAR more likely to keep them balanced w/a 3 permanent rival/rotate everyone else system than it will be with pods and divisions.
