First, you have to have great wins. Second, no amount of great wins overcome a loss to a bowl ineligible team when you're talking about the best 4 college teams in the country.

Georgia is ranked 4, so obviously you are wrong

Obviously, the point of this thread is to argue that the rankings are incorrect.

Shot at Bama? I like it. However, Bama in Tuscaloosa is better than UF at home.

‘They have not lost to a team as bad as SCar.‘

True, but Oklahoma was boat raced 41-6 during a stretch of the KSU game. And UGA was a loss where they outgained the opponent, were negative 4 in turnovers and missed two field goals. Still lost the game, but not sure they were ‘beaten’ in the game.

I really don’t care where you rank them - if they pull off a win versus LSU they are in. And if they are not in I could give a rats arse where they end up - its on to recruiting then.

Florida's wins:

Miami (6-6)
UT-Martin (7-5)
Kentucky (7-5)
Tennessee (7-5)
Towson (7-5)
Auburn (9-3)
USCe (4-8)
Vanderbilt (3-9)
Missouri (6-6)
Florida St. (6-6)

What a gauntlet. Y'all beat Auburn, and lost to the only two teams with a pulse. The Gators really are the measuring tape for greatness.

Thank god we get a chance to beat LSU this Saturday. Amirite?

Or is beating a 1 loss LSU team by 3 not a great win?

Both teams have 1 loss. Utah to ranked SC and UGA to unranked, bowl-ineligible SCar.

UGA would be deserving if they didn't completely shite the bed in that game. When comparing teams of identical record, the losses should be accounted for. UGA has good wins, but one of the worst losses in all of college football this year.

LSU is going to embarrass Georgia and the committee is going to have to move them out anyway. If they had any sense, UGA wouldn't even be sniffing the top 4 and they could have used this week to set up the final rankings to be nice and neat.

This is a weird hill to die on... There has been literally zero controversy with UGA at 4.

Utah hasn't even beaten a ranked team yet.

So, to you, 3 wins over current top-15 teams and a bad albeit meaningless loss, is not as good as a team with no quality wins and an average loss?

Apparently there are still fans that think there is this huge amount of teams with good wins and no major blemishes.

UGA’s loss is worse than Utah’s or Oklahoma’s, but UGA’s wins are far, far better.

A loss to mf'ing South Carolina, whom, by the way, is NOT bowl eligible. That's easily the worst single loss of any team in the top 15.

You are forgetting the single most important point. And the irony of your forgetfulness is that you are a LSU fan.

UGA is undefeated in regulation.
No losses in regulation.

Who cares if a team loses in overtime?
Who cares if a team loses twice in overtime? Even to bad teams. Amirite?

UGA is undefeated in regulation.
We are just like LSU.

They are just there to prop up LSU in case they lose the SEC Championship. Does no one see the game the committee plays? There is no real purpose to even having a ranking prior to the final other than to position conference champs. Y’all are so naive.

And yet UGA has 3 ranked wins and Utah none. Weird how Utah losing to their only ranked opponent is more impressive than UGA beating all of theirs. I'm guessing you had UCF in the playoffs in 2017 as well?

Guess LSU wasn't deserving in 2007 with 2 losses, Clemson when they lost to Pitt, and OSU when they lost to VT. Keep pushing that narrative I guess.

LSU/UGA common opponent in 2019

Tejas. Tejas beats UGA 28-21. LSU beats Tejas 45-38.

I think UGA should be in at 4, honestly. Unless they pull a huge upset, they are only renting space there for Okie/Utah/Baylor anyways. Or if by some miracle, Clemson players get a curious case of the runs and aren’t worth a damn against UVA and they stub their toe, some other team can sneak in. Clemson ruined this playoff by being in a shite conference and dodging a federal inquiry into steroid use by several players.
