The only controversy with the CFP rankings is UGA being in the Top 4

No great wins. No margin of victory greater than 1 score against ranked opponents. A loss to mf'ing South Carolina, whom, by the way, is NOT bowl eligible. That's easily the worst single loss of any team in the top 15.

Despite a pretty good defense, how is that resume getting top 4 level respect?

If the rankings were as they should be there would be no controversy at all.

1)LSU
2)OSU
3)Clemson
4)Utah
5)OU
6)Baylor
7)Georgia

ETA: Corrected #2 to OSU since context and inference are difficult concepts

Well they beat 3 ranked team with a combined record of 29-7, and no one below them gets close to that angle on things.

I presume 2. OU is OSU

Why would you think OU or Baylor should be ranked higher than UGA? What exactly have they done to merit that? Lol

Except if you look at the polls at the start of the year compared to the final polls we finish ranked higher more than lower but thanks for showing how ignorant you are.

Nah, UGA is definitely four. Pretty much the entire top 4 would wax the top 10 at this point, with UGA doing it in suffocating fashion even if their offense is garbage.

They have not lost to a team as bad as SCar.

Great wins always trump bad losses. Beating UF and Auburn (especially at Auburn) is tough. Georgia deserves major credit for that. Ok, they had a slip against SC. Not that big a deal.

I remember in 2003, LSU had a bad day against a bad UF team in BR. That one loss should never take away all the great wins we had that season. Thank God it didn’t too.

2 of UGAs wins are the same as LSUs.
And UGA also beat ND. Unlike 7-5 Texas.

Florida by 7
Auburn by 7
ND by 6

Every one of Florida's wins is against trash teams. Their 2 losses are to the only good teams they played. They are also over-ranked.

Auburn lost to Florida.

ND lost to Meechigan by 31 points.

Even if you want to call those "great" wins. You still lost to 4-8 South Carolina.

I think UGA is deserving of the 4 spot. I think their defense is overrated, but that is a subject for a different thread.

Because of their wins. And the committee realizes if they beat LSU, then they clearly should be top 4. If they don't, then they will move them down.

First, you have to have great wins. Second, no amount of great wins overcome a loss to a bowl ineligible team when you're talking about the best 4 college teams in the country.

That "bad" UF team lost to #3 Miami, #12 Tennessee, #9 Florida state, and UR Ole Miss. They beat #6 LSU, #11 Arkansas, and #4 Georgia.

Are you comparing that to 2019 South Carolina?

If you're going to try to troll (no idea what people get from doing that), at least don't blow it in the first sentence. Nobody would take you even remotely seriously after that.
