If Arkansas and Auburn win out.

--Both teams would be 10-2, with the head to head going to Arkansas

--LSU would be behind Arkansas in every poll, to include the BCS standings. No need to point out that doesn't force the Sugar's hand. I know that.

--Arkansas would be ahead of LSU in the West

--Arkansas does travel. We sent 40k in back to back years to watch beatdowns of a ho-hum A&M team, mid-season. Arkansas fans need hotels, LSU fans will not for the most part.

I'm in the camp that LSU would more than likely get the nod, even though there are ZERO credible reasons for so, due to the obvious tie-ins and connections between the Sugar staff, LSU and local businesses and powers that be.

That's all I got. Rant over.

the sugar bowl would take a team 55 miles away that would pack the stands that is a big name and a proven winner. Nobody really cares about arkansas. BTW the sugar would take a 10-2 lsu, auburn, or alabama over arkansas

Theyd still take LSU IMO, too much of a lock for them from a business standpoint.

Coming from an LSU fan I think you're right.....There will be a lot of pressure on the Sugar Bowl comittee to take LSU in that instance but I don't think they will be as influenced by the LSU politics as the OP thinks.

ETA I also think we are gonna curb stomp Arkansas so none of this is going to matter

IMO, if LSU beats Ole Miss and then loses to Arkansas, the Razorbacks should go to the Sugar over LSU.

The "problem" would lie in where does LSU go ? The Cotton, SEC and LSU have kinda, sorta agreed to pass on one another due to our 2011 season opener there. LSU went to the Cap One Bowl last year. Unless your the Outback Bowl who wants Florida every year, back to back trips to the same bowl isn't the way to go.

Sure hope it wouldn't be the Chik-fil-A again.

Am I the only AR fan that thinks they will take LSU over us?? The argument that we travel well & we would bring in out of town $$$ is pointless. As I told those crazies over on hogville, LSU fans reside outside of BR and in large numbers. LSU fans put the fanatic in fan when it comes to this. I would FULLY expect them to choose LSU.

Well then frick this whole thing. If we beat LSU the week before and are ahead of them in every poll, and the Sugar still picks them, then frick the Sugar bowl.

We beat Alabama, you didnt.

Win a couple national titles and you MIGHT gain more pull.

If I were a Bama fan, I might describe you as "butthurt"

That's all I got. Rant over.

LSU has a LOT more cache nationally than Arkansas. That would be the deciding factor.

Uh huh. Arkansas has an exciting offense, and LSU has a half-retard who eats grass. Both make for great television. Looks like the Sugar bowl committee is gonna have a tough decision on their hands.

While I think we are going to the Cotton Bowl regardless of how we finish, it sure would be hilarious for us to go to the Sugar Bowl over LSU just to see the meltdown on this place when Little Ole Ar-Kansas beat out the Big Bad Tigers for a bowl in their own backyard.

I would think the Cotton Bowl wouldn't necessarily want Arkansas either since they go to Jerry World every year.

I have no idea who they would choose... I feel like we would get jipped, personally. I would like to think they would choose Arkansas because fans would be really excited to go to a BCS bowl for the first time ever but I don't know.

I know the Sugar Bowl is on the bowl ticket app...

I dunno who they will pick

But if LSU loses to Arky I wouldn't have a problem if they decided to invite Arkansas... it wouldn't feel like the hosejob a couple years ago when LSU lost in the SEC CCG and dropped all the way to the Chick Fil A Peach Bowl

Well, right now LSU is in sole posession of 2nd place in the west, while Ar-KAN-sas is in 4th place and could be in 5th after this Saturday night. I doubt the Sugar Bowl is interested in the 5th place team in the SEC West.

But don't let go of your dreams...we all need something to keep us going.
