I don’t see where much has changed. Bama and Georgia are the two best teams. Mizzou has for the most part been middle of the pack, same with A&M. Texas and Oklahoma have a better chance at being upper tier.

Getting your tooth kicked in in conference championship game isn’t much to brag about. Last thing you won was 1969 co-championship, long long time ago. Your “fan” base has limited knowledge of college football. You will never fit in the upper epsilon of the sport. You are at best mid-tier and you always will be. Save yourself more embarrassment and quit pertaining you matter

It is a new world…actually everyone’s record pre covid, pre NIL is irrelevant history. It’s a nice historical footnote. Conference realignments, coaches, players all have resulted in a semi pro league that has zero loyalty to any school, loyal only unto the NCAA business . Not a single recruit gives a shite what you won 10/29/50 years ago. It’s all about the money. Talk of “blue bloods” is hilarious and irrelevant. Darryl Royal, Nick Saban and others all quit when they couldn’t use the massive university resources to get an unfair advantage. Now a small but rich school like Vandy can compete. Talk of past championships, “blue bloods” is about as relevant as talking about the relevance about who was the winner Spanish/American war.

This guy gets it....^^^^^^^^

Mikfrd & Audustxx .....not so much. Back to the basement Couch Coaches...this discussion is out of your league.

Why do you folks pretend Vandy has never been good before?

They went 9-4 in back to back seasons with James Franklin, now they start off hot and it's a whole new world and everything has changed.

This whole topic is a massive overreaction.

It seems the main reason most LSU fans want to get rid of Kelly for is how he danced with those children, which was obscene and vulgar.

I'll give you credit that there is some truth in your opening post on this thread. I personally have no problem with Mizzou, as long as they don't go telling UGA that they play 'old man football'. Uh...I think that gets em a bit riled up.

They will do that at their own peril.

From 1901-1906, Vandy was 44-5-2.

From 1910-12, they were 24-2-1.

Yeah that wasn't a good start....

.....however I did entertain a lot of Dawg Fans when they came to Columbia the first time. I've never had a problem with any Dawg fans. Not arrogant like a few other teams I've interacted with.

With NIL being wide open, any four of those teams could be “upper tier.”

Hell, any team in the SEC could do it with the right combination.

Mizzou should have and did lose the SEC championship games, but the one against Auburn was far from a blowout. Refs swallowed their whistle and allowed blatant holding calls not to be called against Auburn offensive line (not a big deal because as newcomers, we knew SEC was going to make it tougher. But Big 12 refs were worse about that stuff)

But also, it was a 3 point game going into the 4th quarter where Auburn had even recovered an onside kick (good execution but 9 times out of 10 it still doesn't work). And in the 4th, Missouri turned it over on downs twice at the Auburn 1 and 7.

There was very little defense that day. Franklin, who had missed games due to injury kept Missouri in the game despite a terrible defense but it was far from a blowout.

Who do you consider blue bloods?

In the SEC, Alabama and Georgia.

Everyone else is either a has-been or a pretender blueblood.

Sort of like, oh I don’t know. Ohio State was up 3-0 on Mizzou in the fourth quarter but you got idiots in here claiming the game was a blowout lol. Against a third string QB no less and it ended up 14-3. Brady Cook for Heisman

That game was as far as I'm concerned an exhibition game. I'd rather Mizzou get opponents at their best rather than with 2nd stringers. Although having a competent 2nd string is an important part of football.

I should have put the original quote in, but that was in response to an Auburn fan. If it was anyone other than an Auburn fan, I wouldn't responded to them bringing it up.
