just wanted to say this is such a funny thing for you specifically to say as you're doing a thread like this.
i will leave you to it, you're working through the stages of grief and clearly still have a few to go.

something else to consider here. The main talking point has now shifted from focusing on the fumble spot to focusing on our DL position. But let's just play along and hone in on the DL.
-If they are in fact offsides, and AU scores, nobody cares at all because the outcome is still desirable
-If they are offsides and AU doesn't score, now it's a talking point that needs attention.
Nothing whatsoever has changed from UGA's perspective. In both cases they're "offsides" (in this hypothetical). So what changed? In the happy scenario AU holds onto the ball and scores. In the current timeline of teeth gnashing AU has fumbled.
So really, if AU would simply have not fumbled, none of this would matter anyway.

Auburn trying to spin their own failure as a conspiracy on the part of others isn’t anything new.

Ball already moving at this point, courtesy of a Georgia defender, then another one finished knocking the ball out. Case closed, honestly, but Aubs don't want to acknowledge this for some reason.

they havent won a game in a month and a half, have only beaten one ranked team in like 4 years, and their coach is a literal pedophile.
let em have it man, they need this.

Don't fumble. Would have solved pretty much everything.
It is possible that the refs called the fumble on Arnold out of habit...
Fumbling while his team is going in for a TD is a pretty routine procedure for him.

Agree, and I'm no Auburn fan, but it was a pretty big play.

What it wasn’t, what it could never have been, was a touchdown for Georgia. I’m sorry, but that’s the cold, hard, irrefutable truth.

Auburn is trapped in football purgatory.

Officials having been letting the defense stick their helmets into the neutral zone a lot this year. I don't know why they are slow to enforce that.
What is wild is that they then called offsides on UGA's next drive and I don't think it was even close. Player definitely is moving before the snap, but he started so far behind the LOS he never even gets tot he neutral zone before the snap. I believe that was a 3rd down too, can't remember. Trying to find the clip of it. It is the absolute 0-100 inconsistencies that is what truly makes these games so bad. Missed calls happen. Calling things one way and then not using that same standard later is a much bigger issue.

It's amazing what losing to your rival 12 years in a row will do to a fanbase.

Here’s a simple fix. Don’t beat em so many times in a row. Lay down like a good doggy /s

I see that wikipedia refers to this game as "The Crumble After the Fumble"
Kudos to whoever came up with that.

it was. It should have been a TD for Georgia. Refs every single Saturday will let a guy that's still moving keep on going until the play is actually and formally dead. In this play, there is a fumbled ball that was recovered by our man, who no defender touched and was about to sprint the other way, before an official must have been on shrooms or something and decided to just blow his whistle for some reason that I have still yet to hear explained.

I know how to do Photoshop too. You can do all kinds of fun things on it. Nice try!

It's the first one I found. If the NCAA is different, then I'll say I was wrong.
