Technicality but few people that lost were actually from Texas. Plus Texas was not a state at the time of the Battle of the Alamo

US govt was asking for it.

Umm, you're welcome

Francis Marion single handedly defeated the British. Read a book some time.

"Where the frick did all these landscapers come from?"

That's right. We weren't a state. We were our own country.

Thats pretty damn cool. I need to do some digging on ancestry sometime.

Awful thread. There weren't many Texans at the Alamo at all, they left the heavy fighting to others. It seems Texans have never played defense.

Wrong, that happened in the country Of Texas NOT the state of Texas

I'm a direct descendant of the 1st cousin of William B. Travis. My family can't get through a holiday gathering without mentioning it. Lot's of members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas in our family. That would also mean that James Bonham's family are my ancestors as well. Trophy club!

Notice he didn't actually attribute that to Texans

That is awesome. Francis Marion was on my Mom's side of the family. On my Dad's side, my great, great (?) grandfather married a Cherokee lady. One of their daughters ended up married to Sam Houston. He caught a lot of shite for being marred to a "half-breed". But, he didn't care.

I'm so unappreciated.
