Michael Clayton laying the wood on kickoff coverage against Auburn early in his freshman season. You could hear the hit all over the stadium and he nearly knocked the dude out cold.

When Knowshown spun like a dreidel for the first time against Okie State in 2007

When Murray (stupidly) scrambled in a TD right before halftime against UL-LA, having the awareness to tap the pylon with the tip of the football

Matt Jones, Felix Jones, and DMAC. The first time I saw each of them run in full afterburner mode, there was no doubt.

When D-Mac laid out that Bama DB with a stiff arm.

I was there watching that game. I absolutely knew DMac was a stud when I saw that play. He was a true freshman and came into the game late in a blowout loss for Arky in Tuscaloosa. He took a handoff to the left, made it into the secondary with one man to beat and that man was senior FS Roman Harper, the current starting safety for the New Orleans Saints. He stiff armed Harper to the ground on the way to the endzone for an 80 yard run and I was like "wow."

When Lattimore ran for over 180 yards and a TD or 2 against UGA, his 2nd ever game and 1st against an SEC opponent.

Mark Ingram's very first game his freshman year against Clemson. I was so impressed with how punishing he was and how he wouldn't go down.

Oct 2, 1982. 2-0 LSU at 2-0 heavily favored Florida.
True freshman Dalton Hilliard takes a screen pass and goes 55 yards for a TD on as scintillating a run as you'll see. Musberger gushes: "ladies and gentlemen, we have a new staaaaar."

I know I'm old, but when Herschel broke on the scene there was just no doubt we were looking at a superstar. Classic call, "My God! A freshman!"

Dexter McCluster's first game his freshman season against Memphis. He had several hundred APY and a touchdown off of the McClusterfrick trick play.

One of the hardest hits I've ever seen by an LSU player!
