I still remember exactly where I was when I watched this. MSU had more interception return yards (140) than passing yards (120) or rushing yards (115).

This was also the team that got coach O fired by scoring 10 points in the last 3 minutes of the egg bowl with just 34 yards of offense

With the 11 am kickoff and rain in the forecast, maybe we can hope for another Jefferson Pilot special

That game pissed me off. We were about to go up at least 12-3 just before half and instead we trailed at the break 10-9. That interception changed the complexion of the game completely. Prior to that moment, we had been moving the ball pretty consistently but had failed to cash it into the end zone.

Omar Conner graduated the year before this, but I never knew he is Kamario Taylor’s uncle

1994 Auburn against LSU says, “Hi.”
Auburn 94 yds passing; 151 yds INT returns
Auburn 4 defensive TD’s (3 pick 6’s in 4th quarter)
Auburn 5 INT’s of LSU’s Jamie Howard in 4th quarter (fortunately for Jamie, # of INT’s thrown in a single quarter is not an official NCAA stat)
Auburn ZERO yds in Total Offense in 4th quarter, yet overcame a 14-point deficit in that 4th quarter to win

I was told by the message board geniuses that Saban would never win anything of value and this game proved it....

There were a lot of naysayers after that 2007 season. However, any fan who was paying attention to how that 2008 recruiting class was shaping up behind the scenes knew that things were about to change in the very near future.

Yup. I (painfully) remember that game well. It's one of two Auburn/LSU games that we LSU fans and alumni have a name for. There's the "Earthquake Game" which we remember fondly, and then there's the "Interception Game" which we would greatly love to forget. (What idiot on the LSU coaching staff decided to continue to air it out with a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter and Auburn being unable to generate any offense?)

I was in the student section for that pick. Everyone on that end just saw what happened and was losing their mind and the rest of the stadium went from "why are they cheering a bama sco.......oh shite! Go go go go go!" He was about to the MSU 30 before everyone figured it out.

We were in a bad way in those years. We had a retired four star Air Force general as university president, who could have pulled some strings and got any flyover he wanted, and he wanted to fly over himself in Snoopy's biplane.

And we had Sly Croom as a football coach.

Annnd we had Larry Templeton as athletic director.

My years of football at MSU as a student was atrocious.
