LSU fans are different. We treat them differently than everyone else. They are trashy and treat us like shite in BR so we return the favor in Oxford.

Just walk around and be friendly. People will stop and start a conversation with you. It’s one of the more friendly tailgates in America. Unless you are an LSU fan because frick them.

The Grove and the circle will be packed. It's crowded for non-SEC games. With Georgia coming and SEC Nation on campus this weekend, finding a place in the Grove will be difficult, if not impossible.

Also, there's a 90% chance of rain. So not sure if tailgating will be all that fun. Better to watch at a sports bar.

No it’s that y’all are complete dickheads in BR. Like baby children assholes. It’s a cultural issue.

No tailgate at any school is going to let strangers come in a tailgate with them.

Over a decade ago we set up a tent in the Grove. Cooked jambalaya, had plenty of beer, and had bourbon with mixers. We offered constantly to the tents around ours to come and join. They were extremely bitchy and whiney that we were there.

Again, LSU fans have a different experience than everyone else. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Everyone else in the conference has a great time.

Gotta say, one of the best visits I've ever made was to LSU. UGA won but the LSU fans were friendly and gracious afterwards. Got some great gumbo.

The grove is a very unique place. It is a small area (by my standards) with just wall-to-wall tailgating tents. There is some kind of as setup time and most people pay someone to dash in at that time to claim their spot. Same folks typically claim the same spot all season. Because of the close-quarters and associated risk of fire, there is no grilling or open flames. Most people just bring finger foods or something you can heat up in a crock pot.

Drinking alcohol is okay, but have it in a plain cup (no bottles). All ice chests must be locked at all times.

I found the fans to be very nice, but pretentious ( that’s better than trashy). Short story is, you won’t find a spot in the grove, and I am not sure tailgating is allowed outside of the grove. I find that it isn’t worth trying to tailgate at any away games. One thing you can do is leave the game at halftime and head to the bar above city grocery.

Made the trip in 2023. Pretty scenery. Had we not known folks at a couple of tailgates, their fans wouldn’t have acknowledged our presence at all. I’m glad I checked it off of the list though I'm not sure I’d recommend it to others as a must do event.
