Convenient to judge a team by stats during garbage time. Also pretty early in the season. We shall see on the field so whats the point of these bullshite threads. Bama fans did the same thing... Georgia fans too

Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be national champs.

This LSU vs either 2011 LSU or Bama team, I say this one wins. The defense is good enough to hold for a half, and the offense is good enough to grab the lead and get to a safe margin. That's been the formula this season, and it's worked against some damn good teams. Could someone run all over them? Maybe, in the second half- but if you're up 2-3 scores you don't mind that too much.

Those 2011 and 2012 Alabama teams would wreck this LSU on both sides of the line such that I don’t know you can assume the 2019 LSU offense is quite as in control of a game. That 2011 LSU defense would also be fascinating to see against this 2019 LSU spread, as their defensive backfield was such a bunch of ballhawks. That era LSU offense though would be hopelessly outclassed

That was peak Alabama “murderball” offense era that this 2019 LSU defense would not be able to handle that style of play personnel wise, and the defenses were loaded with a number of guys still playing in the NFL. I would see that Alabama team getting too much pressure on the QB for Burrow to be as effective while they run the ball for 200-250+ Yds.

name a team historically that went undefeated and basically unchallenged against a schedule as hard as the 2019 lsu schedule.

only fla had the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to tie or take the lead, and that was halfway through the 4th quarter!

also, name the teams historically that are on a 20 year run (in the most competitive conference of the most competitive era) like lsu is since 2000. the list is very short

I talked with a Clemson fan in Vermont today. Couldn’t have been nicer and more complimentary of LSU.

Good to know there’s at least one non-douchebag from Clemson out there.

The last national champion that didn't have a WTF game or a truly lackluster performance that season was the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers.

This was the best team I ever saw. They were a phenomenal force. But they also had like a record number of criminals and players that were arrested who were not disciplined or were just reinstated for big games. One dude had 8 arrests while he was at Nebraska.

That was still the best-looking team I ever saw. But IF LSU goes on to win the title, they will have had the greatest season ever in terms of their resume. They already have had 5 wins over top 10 teams (the first to do so in 70+ years) and 4 of those teams are in the current AP top 10. If they win two more games, it's possible that LSU will have 6 wins over teams in the final top 10 (and since LSU would be #1, that would leave just three teams in the top 10 that they wouldn't have defeated). But that's IF they win. All the playoff teams are very talented.

Who said this LSU team was the best ever? I’m an LSU fan and I wouldn’t say that. With that being said, I hope we curb stomp OU and whoever we play in the Natty.

The best team scores the most points, and LSU can score at will when needed. Would you call a team who wins a game 28-0 a possible best team? Why is beating a team by 28 looked at differently when the other team scores? No team in the 4th quarter has had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead. If they score, LSU pushes it down the field!

Clemson Fan

Vanderbilt beat Clemson TWICE, and both times it was by 41 points!

Vanderbilt has beaten Clemson 3 times and lost once.

The closest game the two have played...

22 Vanderbilt
20 Clemson

Never change Tater fans, your delusion is great in the long and storied history of college football.

Probably a native of Vermont, they have been nice to me in the past, funny too.

Bigger question is how they became a Tater fan?

And we beat Louisville by roughly the same margin you did without a QB and completing only 4 passes.

What’s your point again?

I don't give a flying shite if we give up 44 points every damn game as long as we score 45. That still interprets into an undefeated season and a national championship.

I have confidence our defense will not give up 44 points and I have even more confidence that our offense can score 45 if need be.

Isnt it like 71% of the points scored on LSU have been with LSU in the lead by 14 points or more?
