Clemson has 3 titles and has won the most conference titles in its P5 conference even despite FSU's long period of dominance in the ACC.
Your most dominant team finished at #13 on the ESPN list, behind 4 SEC teams, so no, Clemson's success in that conference does not give you brownie points. Neither does a 5 year stretch of success. If Clemson keeps this up (And there is no reason why they shouldn't) you could/should move up the charts significantly.

I don’t see cult Aggie on that list...I thought their program was elite???

Who has the most national titles?
If we are going by bama math OU has more recognized NCs...

So teams in the East have been able to pad those winning columns with Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Thanks for showing the rankings.

If only Alabama used the math they’re accused of using.

Taking into account:
*all-time winning percentage
*all-time wins
*national championships (limited to titles "claimed" by the school)
*conference championships
*total bowl games
*bowl games record
*consensus All-Americans
*Heisman Trophy winners
*total number of NFL draft picks
*first-round NFL draft picks
*# of weeks in AP poll
*# of weeks at AP poll #1 spot
Pretty dumb that each of these get equal weight. Drop a few categories and I think you'll get rid of some dumb outlier-level rankings
Drop:
Bowl Game Record - Especially in this day and age where players sit out, it isn't really a good indicator of a program. Plus it creates some really dumb outliers.
Total Draft Picks - Not necessarily a COLLEGE football indication. Gives no credit to undrafted players who make it in the league, and lots of credit to players who may not play a snap.
First Round Picks - Same as above. Lots of busts too, not worthy of the #1 pick a team spent on them. Lots of GREAT college players don't get drafted.
Drop these three categories, and you eliminate some funky stats. Some of the other categories are questionable to be included, but definitely derive from the team's performance.
Wonder if someone could cut and paste into excel and re-run the numbers without those 3 categories?

Alabama claims all of their NCAA recognized titles. OU only claims their 7 AP titles. If OU wanted to claim recognized they would have 17 with 14 or 16 being actually legitimate by Alabama’s standards.

False

Actually, if Alabama claimed all the NC won it would be 28 or 29
Since the end of WWII the only NC counted by Alabama is ones won in the AP,UPI, BCS, playoffs, etc. you know the ones that everybody counts, and Alabama has 12 (if you count just AP, Alabama still leads OU with 11)
Oklahoma does not count any pre-WWII titles because they did not win any. ALabama counts the pre-WWII titles becasue Alabama went to a Bowl game (Rose Bowl) for every one of those titles. In fact Alabama is one of the few teams that every one of their titles years ended in a bowl game.
If you want to have a problem with that, then I suggest you look at OU's 1956 NC team, and see the opponents record for that year (OU played 1 team with a winning record, and no bowl game)

Was it a clothing store business ? If not please post a link or a name, because otherwise you are getting some poor information.
It was not a clothing store. My father and the man were childhood friends, so I knew the man personally. My information is first hand.

10 seems right. I can't believe Nebraska and Tennessee are still so high?
So...you don't understand how the first 125-ish years would have more impact than the last 10?

Well finishing at least 20th in the AP poll is good enough to claim a title per Bama logic.

Huh? Alabama has finished #1 in the AP poll 11 times.... tops in that regard.

What does that have to do with the fact that you claim a natty for finishing 20th in the AP poll?

I guess you are talking before WWII, and before the polls were standardized.
You do realize that before WWII the AP poll was a public poll, the only people who could vote in it were the papers that subscribed to it. A good part of the country did not, and there were other, more official polls that did award the national title. The AP title before WWII was sort of a joke.

Didn't happen in Gadsden. The NCAA hasn't snooped around their since Jelks made his accusations. I know a lot of people on both sides from their that are very close to both schools.

I lived there part of my life, my family (both sides) are from there. Goodness child, you are so uninformed that it is sad. Just stop, you are making yourself look foolish.
