List is shite without an Ethan Henderson mention.

I do agree that Arkansas and Kentucky are the only 2 teams deserving of the list, but 6 Final 4s mean more.

The SEC is, and will always be a 2 team league, consisting of ONLY Arkansas and Kentucky.

Every year Arky looks to tRant to confirm blueblood status because of a 5 year elite run a quarter of a century ago. Sad.

#22 ranked program on the list hasn’t been to a sweet sixteen since 96. How long until they fall off these lists forever? 2-3 years?

Apparently winning a meh conference regular season is worth 67% more than making the elite 8. Winning the nit scores as much as making the elite 8. Interesting scoring system.

A conference championship >> elite 8.

Anything NIT related should not be considered though.

Why wouldn't you include the full list of SEC teams they've ranked and include the criteria they used? It could have been a good thread and worth a decent discussion.

quote:

NCAA Tournament championships (20 points)
Final Four appearances without a national title (10 points)
Regular-season titles (5 points)
Elite Eights without making the Final Four (3 points)
NIT titles (3 points)
NCAA Tournament bids (2 points)
Wins (0.5 points)
Losses (-0.5 points)
Wins over ranked opponents (0.5 points)
Weeks ranked (0.1 point)
Top-10 NBA picks (5 points)
11-30 NBA picks (3 points)
31-60 NBA picks (1 point)]

1. Kentucky
22. Arkansas
39. Tennessee
40. Florida
41. Alabama
48. Missouri
52. LSU
65. Vanderbilt

It's always been Kentucky and everybody else.

Just like Bama in football.

Yes the SEC is Kentucky and everyone else. This Greatest program ever ranking is a little strange in their perceived scaling. Not to get political but this list is very participation trophy heavy. Come on giving points for NIT is ridiculous. When comparing these two teams head to head how is one more then double better than the other. Of course we do have a way of awarding best teams and programs and that is by Ships they have in the case. Which would put UCLA as Number one all time program with 11 and UK as two with 8. So one of these teams below would be tied for 15th and the other tied at 35, but lets expand the measuring stick for shits and giggles.

Team A vs Team B
Championships - 1 - 2
Run ups - 1 - 1
Final Four - 6 - 5
Elite eight - 10 - 9
Sweet Sixteen - 11 - 11
Round 32 - 21 - 17
Field of 64 - 32 - 22
SEC Champs - 2 - 7
SEC T Champs - 1 - 4
All Time Record- .639 - .563
Tourny Record 42-32 - 44-19
Head to Head 12 - 26

They won't. It took us 20 years of shite basketball to get to that level.

Now that has changed.
