Only if you thank Misissippi State for beating UConn, which gave USCjr the open door to the women's title.

this game demonstrated why disqualifying players is so dumb. it changed the entire complexion of the game.

One of the worst officiated title game ever. Absolutely horrible. Whistle blown every minute, commercial every 2 minutes.

The refs wore down Gonzaga.

What do you know, I actually...agree?

Gonzaga's most athletic post player wasn't as much of a factor as he could have been due to too many fouls.

if those two centers could have played entire game and not been worried about fouling out, they would have won comfortably.

people watching the game to see the best players compete but can't b/c of the refs.

Moving from 2 halves to 4 quarters with the fouls being reset each quarter is the way to go. The foul calls have gotten ridiculous.

They're definitely thanked. But I meant physically. Williams-goss wasn't 100% and neither was karnowski. We gave them our best shot and they took casualties. It was apparent down the stretch

Those refs would've feasted on us if we had advanced. This game was borderline unwatchable.

Shoot, if that's USC vs UNC, Martin would have run out of players and gotten T'eed up a couple of times. Meeks plays linebacker under the goal and gets away with it way too much.

Silva would have fouled out by the second tv timeout with those refs tonight.

Lol. Our win over Uconn was one of the biggest upsets ever. I think our blood sweat and tears went into that game. I only hate the fact we played them so late in the night. By the time our women finished all the media interviews, showered and ate, it had to be 3am back to the hotel if not later and had to get up hours later for the same.

We were not sharp at all in the NT game. But you can't take anything away from SC either, they were crisp. I just wish they'd allow an extra day to recoup if they are going to make a team play so late before the title game.

I'll make sure to edit Mississippi State's Women's Basketball team page to add in a new category for beating UConn. Too bad they don't actually hand out trophies for that.

Seemed the better team won last night. There best player played pretty average, he seemed to have tired legs on his jump shot. Both teams had similar foul issues. It's not surprising the team with big guys who are slower of foot had a few more. The big European guy should have fouled out on at least 4 occasions.

It was a poorly officiated game, but that was largely due to the style of play both teams prefer.

Or was it the bum ankle that he hurt in our game?

You're welcome to our Carolina brethren.
