Zook is far from the 4 worst for sure...
Don't forget he outcoached Nik Saban's LSU title team.

Miles problems stemmed from stubborness. His clock management wasn't good I know but miles doesn't belong on this list for sure. He won too many games over s long period of time to be on this list. He won too many SEC titles, won a natty, and made it to another natty. He beat the national champ in his last title game appearance at their place too that year btw and beat some excellent teams that year too thag went on to win their conferences and make it to bcs games. Mlies shouldn't be on the list.

Ron Zook never had a losing season at Florida.
Replace Zook with Muschamp and you are on to something.
Impossibly bad HC, but Zook actually did recruit really well on both sides of the ball.
Muschamp.

Gus is on the list for best and worst. It's hell having a bipolar coach. ??

Joker Phillips (2010-12)
Woody Widenhofer (1998*-01)

Dooley
Zook
Shula
????
The rest aren't even close to those three (and whatever fourth I've forgotten).

Miles was a pretty poor gameday coach. I don't think he was one of the worst though.
People remember the crazy things he did that worked, but forget all the crazy things he did that didn't work.
It's also pretty clear that Miles luck ran hot, particularly early in his career. He rolled the dice in a lot of high stakes situations and won a bunch of them, giving him his reputation. Luck began catching up to him later in his career.

Im thinking the Aggies, Hogs and Tigers can make a legitimate argument to the contrary, especially the Aggies. UCLA game. Nuff said.

Ed doesn't belong on this list for that. His OL and DL are terrible. They get up for one game a year and that's Bama. Every other game is mediocre in effort because they don't have the linemen to compete week in and out at the level that their talent indicates. If they were in the big 12 or any other conference that couldn't match them physically I think they would be highly successful.

Fran was decent at preparation, but his in game ability sucked.
I would have to disagree. Say what you want about how Fran left and his performance at A&M, but that guy could coach. We played smash mouth, hard hitting football in '02. Had we been eligible to play in Atlanta that season, I think we beat Georgia in the re-match. Going into the Iron Bowl, Alabama had the #1 offense and #1 defense in the conference.
Had Fran not deliberately blown the Iron Bowl that year, we likely finish in the AP Top 5. That was a great team. The second best Alabama team of the 00s IMO.
We would have won a national title with Franchione if not for Albert Means.

No way. Les Miles won some games with his in-game coaching. He schemed us multiple times and made big calls at the exact right time to win games.
Didn't they run 2 plays in 4 seconds against Auburn to win the game? Can't remember what year that was.
May have been 8 seconds.
