There is no hate for Clemson just pity

2016 CFP Final Rated Lower Than Duke-Wisconsin Basketball
This playoff did not have a meter-moving team. Alabama brought the SEC audience (who watch anyway). Oklahoma isn’t a draw. Michigan State and Clemson aren’t traditional football powers. It ended up with an Inter-Dixie Final. Not surprisingly, it rated much lower than Ohio State playing two cross-regional matchups last year.

Clemson Is Not a Traditional Football Brand: This isn’t a knock on Clemson. But, the school’s consistent national football success is a recent phenomenon, basically the last few seasons. It does not have the accrued pull of schools that have been on television playing big games for 40-50 years. One-half or one-third the size of some of the bigger football powers, Clemson does not have the huge national alumni base of an Ohio State. Many people outside the South would not even know where Clemson is located.

This is the Final Four that makes College Basketball worth watching. Everyone loves the little guy, that is why most wanted Clemson to win it in Football.

I agree, but would you consider Gonzaga, Oregon or USCjr the little guy? It's harder when you have too many little guys, and the article is pointing out that we have three little guys in this Final Four.
