As for South Carolina; up until three weeks ago, most alums probably couldn't have told you a thing about the basketball program - except the coach. The one who yells a lot and whose face turns the same shade of garnet that's on the team's jerseys.

The four teams descending upon Phoenix this week are basketball's version of a merry band of misfits - the blue blood, the underdog, the well-funded upstart and the nobodies.

Who is who that he's referring to here? I've got the blue blood and the well funded upstart.

It's actually a complimentary article, so don't get your panties bunched up, jr.

Aren't you just filled with jealousy

According to you and this article if UNC wins it is somewhat tainted because it wasn't against a big name program

You should worry about how your basketball program has been irrelevant since Rick Barnes left 17 years ago and not how your biggest rival is attempting to upstage your football championship

With a basketball championship? Uh, no.

As I've said, I'm on USCjr's side. You dickheads in Chapel Hill would be the last ones I'd pull for. I'd probably even root for Auburn before you.

Except South Carolina averaged over 13,000 per game for men's basketball and was first in tbe country in attendance for women's basketball.

No matter what Florida St, Miami and you feel in the ACC a basketball championship is worth much more than a football championship

Actually being able to compete in both sports like only UNC has shown to be able to do is what everyone inspires for

I've seen the proudly displayed banner. I know. I also know that five years ago you couldn't pay someone to attend those games.

Y'all act like I wrote the damn article! Have you never heard the term don't shoot the messenger?

I know Carolina should have much more success than they have had in football

They entire Mack Brown situation and how he felt here derailed the program for awhile plus the entire Butch Davis fiasco but things with Fedora are looking up and the athletic department at this time unlike the 90's wants to win in this sport and is willing to put the money forward to do so

You know Carolina created the forward pass and before then teams in football only ran the ball

You don't mean that.

I would appreciate it if Gamecock fans would quit down-voting my posts, as well. It's making me feel a little awkward. Third wheel type thing.

Stick to basketball. Your brie gets sticky and your Chardonnay gets warm in that August heat.
