Lets face it, giving CNS a month to prepare for a football game is almost unfair. Also I don't think for a minute this 4 team playoff will stick long before becoming an 8 team system. If you take away the BCS system which gives Saban his best advantage (extra time to prepare), you level the playing field so to speak. Sabans teams are beatable as shown by they have lost at least 1 game a year since 09. I really think they will be a consistent playoff team but I don't think they'll win titles in strings like they are now.

Change "I think" to "I will throw myself at the ground and pray" and you have a solid post. Saban to Texas

What has happened so far us unprecedented and rather unlikely. No matter how good we believe Alabama has been (or not), there is no arguing that a series of unlikely events have had to happen the last two years to even get in the BCS title game.

The argument could be made that Alabama really has been the best team, and that we were lucky to have gotten those second chances, and expanding the "playoff" format might make it more likely that we would get second chances in the future.

I agree.

This playoff also makes CFB more like the NFL now, and we saw how Saban met that challenge.

He ran like a ten year old boy runs away from Jerry Sandusky.

Bama, LSU, FLA, are built to win playoffs or the BCS format as we have it. Depth of talent is what ultimately wins in college football.

Saban isn't some mystical wizard x and o coach....he's just a relentless obsessive recruiter that stacks his programs and instills a philosophy of winning.
This guy makes the most sense.
A "playoff" hurts everyone's odds. Having to win more than one tough game in a row is more difficult than having to win one big one. Every team will have those new, tougher odds. To say it will hurt bama's chances more than anyone else is just false, IMO.
I think the playoff will actually help teams like bama.

Just look how close bama was to not even being in the big game the past 2 seasons (OkSt-2011 & KSt,OhSt,etc-2012). And as much as I hate them, they proved that they were the better team in the NCG each of those seasons...by a lot.
Being in the top 4 is easier than being in the top 2 (just to get an invite to the dance).

saban gets undeserved rematches even with the BCS, now they'll happen every year.

The butthurt in this comment alone makes this thread worth it.

Words can not describe the pleasure a Bama fan feels when we read statements like this LSU poster makes about Nick Saban.

It's freakin unimaginable that some folks not only feel this way, but would actually put it on a message board for anyone to read.

This happens every year...yes, even including LSU's NC seasons (#especially '07).
A playoff definitely makes it easier to "slip up" and still get invited to the dance. I hate bama, but Saban has shown that when he gets invited to the dance he pretty much bangs the hottest broads.
Anyone who argues against that has some major butthurt.
Truth is truth.
(& I HATE bama.)

I love it....your hoping that we fall because it removes the necessity of the other teams in the SEC from getting better.
