Respectfully, they aren’t in the same district then. Maybe in the same geographic area, or district zoning area. But 2 teams that would not play for the same championship are simply not in the same district unless your state uses ridiculously dumb terminology that’s not universally accepted.

It would be interesting to see a list of players from those 2 high schools over the past 10 years who went on to play college football. I bet it would be slightly dazzling.

I think you are close. In Texas, they kind of do this (more or less) -
They divide the state into a north/south scene. In the playoffs, there are 2 different 6A state champions, 2 5A champions, and so forth.
They put the top 6A teams from north Texas against the top 6A teams in south Texas. (Usually a Houston vs DFW matchup - sometimes Austin vs DFW.)
They slot 2 6A north champions to face off against 2 6A south champions. At seasons end, the state of Texas always has 2 6A state champions. I want to say Duncanville is 5A, but they have switched back and forth a few times based on population. Don't quote me on that.

my kid is at Allen high school in Texas and we open with Duncanville next week, then Desoto, then Southlake. Brutal
I spoke with the media guy at Allen at the scrimmage Friday and he said he's had request from coaches for 31 P4 coaches for sideline passes for next week. Its a rematch of the 6a semifinal from last year.
Also almost 100 media passes. It will feature 5 of the top 20 sophomores in the country. There will be 13 combined players with SEC offers.

Texas places the playoff qualifiers from each 6A district into 2 divisions based on enrollment size.
Classes 1A through 5A are each split into 2 divisions before the season

Bro, get your $hit together before posting nonsense. They have “big school” and “small school” reps from each district. So it has happened -but rarely, that 2 of the teams from same district have made it all the way to state in 2 different brackets. They used to only have one district rep to playoffs but in 80’s it went 2. Then it went to 3….now it’s 4. Many think 4 is watered down but UIL wanted more playoff games to get more $. But there have even been instances where the last place team in the district has advanced several rounds so you never know how strong some of these districts are compared to the others.

it is still that way in 6a. 4 teams in each district make playoffs. biggest 2 in enrollment go div 1the other 2 div 2. 2023, desoto 7/0, duncanville 6-1. same district. desoto, duncanville, soc are open enrollment. duncanville and soc coaches are tremendous coaches, really take care of their kids. desoto exact opposite.

Mathis at DeSoto is a major D bag and always talking shite to other players and coaches.
I still have a smile on my face from when they were ranked number one in the state and they were beating our arse and he was waving bye to the fans and our QB, a sophomore named Kyler Murray, had his coming out party in the second half. His team didn’t even shake hands

Correct me then. Last year we won district at 10-0 and our rival went 9-1
We went big 6a and they went little 6a

My bad, I thought the most recent realignment had split 6A to Dv1 and Div2 like the rest of the classes

I wouldnt be so sure . cadence dhuram had two runs of over 70 yards yesterday and that was with the 1s . I think they all get a bunch of carries. Dillon Jones may get reps with the 1s but berry and dhuram are more dynamic as far as hitting the big plays and berry is better as a receiver.

duncanville, soc, cedar hill scrimmaged each other this weekend. lot of talent running around.
