Not just that, they actually BEAT their two biggest rivals in November, and both are going to the CFP before Auburn.
That's gotta suck.
Bama breaking the system again

It is the most important criteria for getting into the CFP.
No. No, it's not. For the reasons I stated earlier.

At the end of the day, that loss only cost us the SEC (which sucks)
Which proves my original point. Conference titles are rendered meaningless in the new system

Every team that’s in the conference championship game next year should just say no thanks we’ll just seit at home. It can only hurt our chances! We’ll pass

If Wisconsin just stayed home instead of making the trip to play Ohio State they would be in the playoffs right now.. and that's a huge red flag to me.
If OSU just forfeited their game at Iowa they wouldn't have had a 31 point loss and would be in the playoff now

Displaced buckeye, what you big ten pussies need to remember is if you have weak 7-5 teams on your schedule it is very important that you actually beat them. Losing by 31 to them makes your claim extremely weak.

It didn’t... championship weekend is just another data point for the committee... nothing more.

Why do you say conference titles are meaningless? UGA was able to kick AUs butt and their won got them into the CFP. So how are the conference titles meaningless?

The playoff was created because people didn't want two SEC teams in the BCS game.
So now we have two SEC teams in the playoff that would not be there under the BCS.

Somebody explain to me how the hell a team that is undefeated can just decline the invite to play in their conference championship game to save their spot in the CFP?
I keep seeing folks post that Wisconsin should have just sat home last night and they’d be in the final four today. Did they have the option to stay home and forgo their championship game?

The SEC UGa conference champ had to play an extra game and has to travel to play in the Rose Bowl. Meanwhile Alabama rests up and is rewarded for not playing in a conference championship by playing a home game in their backyard.
The playoff committee got the final four right but should have ranked Alabama #3 and forced them to travel. Too bad UGa, you got hosed.

Or scheduled Florida State and Mercer instead.
Yeah, I like that option more...
I like don't lose by 31 to Iowa better.
