The days of building a dynasty like Saban did will never happen again thanks to NIL/TP!

As an LSU fan, Saban wasn't my favorite person, but I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for him as a coach. Simply, he is the GOAT and now with NIL/TP, it's going to be impossible for any coach to come remotely close to any of his accomplishments.

The reality is the minute any team has any kind of success, it's almost guaranteed that some team is going to come in and buy your best players. It's mind boggling to think just a few years ago, a coach could not even buy a recruit a coke.

Why would the schools with vast amounts of money (like Texas) not be able to just buy all the best players? Especially with NIL not really having any rules...

Sark may not be as great a coach as Saban but if he has a roster with 90% 5 stars I think they will be pretty hard to beat.

I think he might have tried to "evolve" his plan and message if he only had to deal with NIL or Unlimited Transfers...but not both. Either one you can still have some leverage and make it work, but with both you have zero leverage at all...the tails wagging the dog now.

He was cheating his arse off at Bama and was allowed to buy his players while Mark Emmert ran cover for him. Saban is a shite ingame coach. He just out talented his opponents

Yep, that's why the Yankees have never won the World Series. Uncapped free agency will always leads to parity.

What a scorching hot take!

Wonder why nobody thought of this before January, the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty five?

this isnt even close to the truth anymore. How about you name the last time Auburn was on probation. Were you even alive?

Saban had an entire season wiped off his record for cheating at Alabama

5 games for textbooks is an entire season? Show proof of anything that gave him an on field advantage. Otherwise it’s just sour grapes from our little brother.

People are dumb.

These are probably the same people who have been pushing for rules changes over the past 15 years claming it was going to help the little guys, even while people told them the little guys would get fricked. Then they get the rule, the little guys get fricked, they act like it never happened and push the next stupid thing.

And this is exactly that.

There is a reason why every professional sport has limited free agency and salary caps. It's specifically to prevent what the OP is claiming can't happen...because it can and likely will at some point.

You mean lying about playing time and making rules so they can't transfer?

Some truth in that statement, Saban knew he couldn’t thrive in a level playing field. Steve Spurrier spoke the truth about Saban. “He’s got a good gig going Alabama but I’d like to see him do it at South Carolina.”
