Message board posters are considered crazy by most people in the real world anyway. I screw with them. You try to fit in with them. Seems like you might be the crazy one

Problem with this is, Hurts had little to nothing to do with getting Bama to the championship.

That's just dumb

you could have put any QB from the SEC last year (Etling included) and Bama would have still made the championship game

Again, just dumb

Why do people on this site start with what is a decent, reasonable argument and then completely slam their faces into a wall?

Reasonable argument - Other players were better than Hurts and 4-5 SEC QBs would have had similar or better stats than Hurts if playing at Alabama. Dobbs, Fitzgerald, Bentley, Patterson and Allen could have also produced good seasons with that roster.

Unreasonable argument - Hurts did nothing, Alabama won 14 games in spite of him, any SEC QB could have done it

Hurts did throw a screen last week, and Ridley decided to take it 15 yards the other way.

On 18 throws, 3 of which were throw aways. 1 was an on the money sideline throw that Ridley got knocked out of bounds mid-air. 1 was a throw to the corner of the end zone that a freshman WR dropped.

So, 10/15 with 2 of those drops.

Lots of excuses from Bammer these days.

(Here comes all the Gumpers to talk about how I'm so wrong on this) but the fact is, you could have put any QB from the SEC last year (Etling included) and Bama would have still made the championship game. Hurts did not make that team last year what it was.

It's mind-boggling how many of our fans can't comprehend this. They point to specific plays as though they are proof. Every player on the team made plays, most of them at a higher rate, relative to their positions, than Hurts.

First off no LSU fan should be critisizing any body elses qb. Specially not Bamas. Hurts is better than anything yall got. And for the past 10 years. Maybe more. I do think that we need to give Tagalavoa a chance though. Hurts is ok and he got skills. But I think that he is missing it between the ears. He has lost his confidence. He is shaky on his throws cause he has lost it. He got the arm to make the throw, he just can't put it where he needs to unless the wr is wide open down the middle of the field. Tua is the real deal and we need to give him the shot if we want to win the title. We may can do a 3 peat if we get Tua the time in before we get to the meat of the season.

that's my 2 cents worth.

These type of threads are hilarious, did you watch the actual game or just took cliff notes? Hurts missed 2 throws he should made... 6 throw a ways passes 1 Pass interference 1 Ridley didn't get his feet in bounds and one the Wr. Dropped. He's in 1st game in a new system against a Top 10 defense who brought their safety off the edge. 0 turnovers O interceptions. When given time he made accurate throws. Don't make me laugh about LSU QB situation.

Do I need to pull out Danny Etling's stats against the last really good defense that relentlessly pressured him?

Point? That was last year and remember, last years stats don't matter. (Or so the Gumps who said FSU would be the toughest defense they face all year said in another thread).

As of right now, Etling has better stats that most SEC QBs. He may shite the bed again at some point, or he may not. If Hurts can improve (as you Gumps say he can) then so can Etling.

Why do Gumps get so defensive when someone points out that Hurts is not a great passer? It's not like y'all need him to be.

Don't try to have a legitimate conversation about a guy's accuracy if your response to the fact that he was accurate is generalization subject changer.

Jalen was a game manager against FSU, nothing more nothing less. He needs to be more than that the rest of the year. He missed some open receivers with his eyes, which needs to improve and is a concern. But he was not "awful" and he certainly wasn't inaccurate.

Point?

Point?????? Really, you want to know what the point is? You said Etling was better than Hurts based on stats against BYU vs Hurt's stats vs FSU in which he was on the run quite frequently, and my response was to post stats from Etling's last appearance in which he was on the run quite frequently, and your response was "Point?"

The point is you are a trolling troglodyte.

I mean..he is the qb, and really a rb...I hope he accounted for all that. Doesn't make him a good qb. He isn't. He is a rb...but he is dangerous in the Alabama system where you wear teams down and are allowed to hold late in close games.

Brandon Harris, 53.4% career passer, 130.2 career passer rating

Blake Sims, 64.0% career passer, 155.2 career passer rating

Please, keep this moronic blabber up. It's great stuff.
