He was there Friday night starter and best pitcher through the first seven series of the year, but then was ruled in eligible. He just became eligible again this week.

How do you become ineligible in the middle of a semester?

My brain was trying to assess the high probability reasons that guy would be ineligible and I was coming up empty.

Sort of. His juvenile record was leaked right before the 2017 CWS when he had been an AA. They didn’t play him in the CWS that year then played him the following season. He was never ineligible. It was just a horrible look for them because they knew about it when they signed him and just thought no one would ever find out

Right. He sat out one CWS but then all was magically forgiven and forgotten Joe Paterno style and he was back starting games at the same Uni
