How about the $100 million dollar contract to the new coach?

Oh I'm sorry. Here

Feel free to delude yourself that Cal is squeaky clean if you like. The whole Smart “strong arse offer” saga clearly shows he’s not. It was widely known Kentucky and LSU were the two choices for Smart. Shannon Forman who was Smart’s “mentor” and AAU coach was the “handler” for Smart’s recruitment. Foreman played for Calipari at Memphis and had ties with Christian Dawkins. Obviously Forman and Dawkins were playing LSU and Kentucky against each other looking for the best offer. The tapped conversation was Wade venting to Dawkins that his offer (whatever it entailed) was not enough. Not hard to connect the dots.

Yahoo Sports broke a story on Thursday in which they revealed they had acquired the transcript of a phone call taped by the FBI between LSU men’s basketball coach Will Wade and notorious basketball middleman Christian Dawkins.

Dawkins received a six-month prison sentence after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud this month for his involvement in a scandal that saw athletes paid to convince them to attend Adidas-sponsored schools.

Sure sounds like they have LSU by the short hairs.

Still wrong. Will Wade is on tape saying that he made a strong arse offer.

Admission of guilt anyway you want to try and spin it.

We don't know what the offer was. shite, we don't even know if it was accepted.

The offer was more than G league money, and it doesn't matter if it was accepted or not.

If everybody obsessed about LSu the way their fans think they do there would be reality show dedicated to it. You can go to the other 49 states in America, ask about this and nobody will give 2 shites

Do you think it's just a coincidence that the same story comes out every year just before the tournament? Forde has had egg on his face so many times for prematurely reporting this that he's determined to break the story eventually.

You're in it because all this heat became public after LSU beat Kentucky at Rupp on the "controversial" tip in.

All the shite surfaced after that. Clearly the aristocracy of CBB coaches were threatened by Wade's strong arse offers.

Cal and Dickie V can get fricked. Pat Forde chugs balls.

U can implicate cal and kentucky all u want but the fact remains smart ended up at LSU. A bright person would connect the dots, which even a kindergarden kid could do and conclude that WW upped the ante'

Wait, so you think this is all over a tip in?

A "strong-arse offer".

Money was never mentioned. Get that through your thick skull, you knuckle-dragging nephson of a neanderthal.

The NCAA is not a court of law. Believe me, they take this an offer of inducement to an athlete. Even SMU, there were no cashed checks, money orders, nothing but heresay and possibility. A damn strong offer is read by the NCAA as an inducemnt. period. If they needed the kind of "proof" that you guys think they do then nobody ever in history would have been sanctioned. Not even SMU.

Again, the point is completely missed. So because Wade ended up offering more Cal and Kentucky are waived from breaking the rules. I’m probably just cynical in thinking all these five stars Cal signed over the years were never offered anything but a scholarship, right. I’m sure Smart was the only one.

I mean, I really don't but those assholes pissed and moaned and the heat was brought on. It was all quiet before that game. Now, we get the yearly article at postseason play and the bullshite that comes with it. The timing of it all is suspect. Wade is dirty but you have to be to compete with the elite in this sport. Wade is a rogue.

I guess its possible but the NCAA does not seem to be a big fan of Calipari. You do have a point about when it comes to coaches like K who is untouchable. While Self is guilty, KU fans are right to ask why isn't Duke being investigated since the player in question went there.

Smart didn’t even hold a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
