Four P5 conferences had teams with 3 or more losses playing in their title games:

That's on the conferences. If they want to risk having 7-6 UCLA or someone similar represent them nationally, let them.

Here, I'll put it in context:

That's a start. Now, let's get you up to speed on how words work.

quote:

The statement clearly defined Delaney being right to ask in terms of a committee that can't get four teams right.

That statement says that Delaney is right to ask for clarification from the committee and that the committee can't get four teams right.

You took it out of context initially because you thought you had something. Your professor explained something to you that you thought you understood. Clearly, you didn't.

Yeah, but those teams have to play extra games to make it to the title game. In CFB, it can be an advantage to not win your division.

You're missing the point of the playoffs then.

“Alabama will always have the eye test advantage because of inherent bias.”

How does Alabama have inherent bias when not a single committee member is connected to the University of Alabama?

What is the point of the playoff?

Please say to get the four best teams.

No, you don't. I'm always amazed at people who make blanket statements with such absolute conviction that they clearly have no idea what they're talking about. The NBA doesn't give 1 shite about divisions...

No one is talking about divisions.

Here's what YOU said [emphasis added]:

quote:

You don't have to win your conference to win any professional title

In the NFL, NBA and the NHL, the conference champions play for the title.

Do you train hard to be this stupid, or does it come naturally?

two teams from the same conference do not belong in a 4 team playoff.

That’s only if your goal isn’t getting the four best teams. And if you’re not interested in the four best teams, just rename it to the Snowflake Invitational.

The ~7th best SEC team outperformed Ohio State by 77 points against Purdue. I know that common opponents aren't the end all be all of comparing teams and Auburn probably wouldn't beat Ohio State by 77 points, but still.
UCF beat the team that Alabama lost to by double digits last year

People should stay completely clear of that road

FIFY

Oklahoma gets in but not Baylor or TCU

Notre Dame gets in even tho they are suspect

Ohio State gets in even tho Penn State won the CCG

Not that hard to figure out.....

ACC will get Clemson and Florida State in. Not sure after that
B1G will get Ohio State and Michigan in. Not sure after that and how they excluded Penn State
B12 will get Oklahoma or Texas in. After that they are shut out like BU and TCU
PAC will get Southern Cal in and downhill after that
SEC will get at least 1 team in even if they are not Alabama
IND will get Notre Dame in if they can justify it

It’s currently a hybrid of the four best teams and representing other conferences. If Notre Dame and OU had both been Big 12 teams, they would have only accepted Notre Dame.

Because there was no team with a comparable enough body of work across the number of games

after 12 games, auburn was ranked ahead of bama

Then, auburn was forced to play a 13th game for beating alabama. Then, we dropped auburn after that extra game

How in the hell can one make logic of that?

Please dont get caught up in the bama/au aspect of it. Make it team A and team B

Because Auburn played Bama at home which means that Auburn’s win over Bama was valued less than a road game or neutral site venue would have been.

What would’ve happened if Bama and Georgia would’ve played in the championship?

You can’t argue Bama shouldn’t have been involved in the championship when they won it.
