sandmountain….UGA was consensus national champs in '42 and shared '46 title with Notre Dame and Army, although ND & Army were the consensus champs. Georgia was the only unbeaten, untied team at 11-0-0 that year.

Ole Miss and Syracuse shared the title in '59...Syracuse was the consensus winner. LSU and Iowa were named winners in '58 with LSU being the consensus winner.

Lol you’re counting titles that Georgia doesn’t even claim.
Thread is irrelevant

Army and Notre Dame tied each other 0-0.
Notre Dame's opponents (post-season ranking) included: #5 Illinois, #2 Army and #16 USC. Notre Dame did not play in bowl games between 1925 and 1970, so their schedule did not get a bump by playing a ranked team post-season.
Army's opponents included: #14 Oklahoma, #6 Michigan, #1 Notre Dame, #5 Penn. Also, service academies weren't allowed to play in bowl games...so their schedule didn't get a post season bump by adding an additional ranked team.
Georgia's opponents included: #11 Georgia Tech and #9 UNC in their bowl game. So, Georgia played 1 ranked team in the regular season and 1 in their bowl game (after the National Champion was decided). They were not the national champion in 1946. The "Williamson System" was the only publication naming them as champion. The other 16 services selected either Army or Notre Dame.
