Normal arse runningback offers more variety than the dude that helped birth the wildcat in the college game.

Only 1 player even mentioned in this discussion will one day be in both the College Football Hall of Fame and the NFL Hall of Fame.

Derrick Henry.

Argue about the rest of the names all you want.

You watched McFadden more than me.
I probably watched chubb more than you.

Chubb is breaking off 60 yarders in A gap, B gap, and C gap.

I always see highlights of McFadden off the edges beating the defense.

If you think Nick Chubb was 'normal' then you know nothing about the great sport of college football and it's history.

I've never seen a running back with more power without his feet on the ground.

Who does that?

Every strong running back.

McFadden was literally running the offense.

Normal in the sense that he didn't do anything you wouldn't normally ask a running back to do. McFadden played three offensive positions including QB but you yahoos are on here saying Chubb had more variety.

It's insanity.

Agree to disagree.

Most backs power comes from their legs on the ground driving.

Chubb runs through tackles (even still in the nfl) mid stride.

I've seen Walter Payton do it. It is not common

Again... he's breaking off long touch down runs through all gaps.

He isn't just off tackle for his highlight reels.

The fact that Knowshon Moreno has even been brought up in this thread is a fricking disgrace

but one from UGA that gets a bit overlooked is Knowshon Moreno.

He was good, not great. Would take himself out of games regularly if he got popped hard

Knowshon and Sony don't belong.

Gurley and Chubb do.

I know the thread is 20 years, but to the poster who believes Herschel is the only UGA back in the conversation... really? How old are you?

Good for him but completely irrelevant when discussing who is greatest running back the last 20 years lol

He was great in the red zone. But that isn't enough to be "great".

If he came out of the game, he always came back in. I don't see what is significant about getting your bell rung and staying in another play.

Go read my post you idiot. I said Moreno was not huge and couldn't run 4.3 but could make something out of nothing. You aren't even dumber than pond scum, you are dumber than the bacteria that eats pond scum.
just re read it. Yeah you’re right but why are you bringing up knowshown Moreno in this thread? He wasn’t even top 15 in best running backs of the last 20 years

You need to go rewatch McFadden tape if you think all he could do was get to the edge.

One could forgive you for confusing McFadden for Felix Jones the way you're talking.

Knowshon was "different" on the goal line. Short yardage too.

It is just a fan remembering a back who literally would not be denied against multiple should be tacklers.
Superhuman.

But the majority of his great runs are capped at 20 yards. The few times he broke free, he'd get cornered on the sideline before reaching the end zone. It is too big a hole in his game for this type of discussion.
