10/16 SEC teams in the top 25 preseason is insane. What's crazier is that all 10 of those teams could be top 20 by the end of the season.

Notre Dame and Penn State. Two auto-includes every year, no matter what.

I’d take Tennessee over Florida State, Clemson, Michigan and probably Utah. 3/4 of those teams are probably going to have below average to bad QB play. They just play crap competition so they get away with it

Can someone explain why Miami is always hyped up each year?

They do that’s why I said 3/4. They’d be a tough out and have a good coach. I don’t know if they’d have the WR talent to really exploit our one big weakness though.

Do you think that two massive brands that went 10-3 last year shouldn't be ranked in the preseason top 25?

AP Preseason #1's and the NC by year over the last 10 seasons:

Year - Preseason AP#1/ NC of that year
2023 - Georgia/Michigan
2022 - Alabama/ Georgia
2021 - Alabama/ Georgia
2020 - Clemson/ Alabama
2019 - Clemson/ LSU
2018 - Alabama/ Clemson
2017 - Alabama/ Alabama
2016 - Alabama/ Clemson
2015 - Ohio State/ Alabama
2014 - Florida State/ Ohio State

So...congratulations, I guess?

LSUBoosie: What I'm saying is that they are always given the benefit of the doubt but haven't won anything major in quite a while. Yes, I'd put them in the Top 25, but not the Top Ten. Notre Dame, particularly, is a media fave without having a brutal league schedule to contend with like all SEC teams do. Re: Penn State. Vegas and the media assumed that they would shut down Ole Miss's offense in the Peach Bowl because of their world-class defense. The opposite happened: Ole Miss shut them down.

I mean what are all the teams you would put ahead of them and why? Penn State wasn't ranked in the 2022 preseason AP top 25 btw.

AP poll is garbage if they put us at #15. We are a consensus preseason playoff team at this point

My favorite program is part of the SEC now, so I probably should at least try to start seeing things differently. But I can't get over the irony of that post on a SEC message board.
