I had a buddy in the National Guard who actually worked for Al - I picked up that expression while we were working in New Orleans after Katrina.

quote:you know, he still works for Alabama. Part of that job is to get recruits to Alabama. If he's driving around telling recruits he's leaving while he's still on Alabama's payroll, the school can lawyer up for damages.
Per BONE in last nights recruiting chat..."Hootie wanted to know from Coach Saban about leaving for Texas. Coach assured him that he would be the coach for Alabama and was going nowhere."

Hey, I am just passing along the info, and its still more credible than the majority of what has been reported in this thread.

He isn't going to tell Hootie Jones' mother that he is headed to Texas.
As of right now, he is at Alabama. Anything could happen. He is still recruiting.
Everytime Saban has left anywhere, it has gone down like this.
My guess, though, is that he gets a HUGE raise from Alabama and stays put.

Honestly Funky, a part of me hopes he stays. The LSU/Bama game has been incredibly fun since he's been around. We've been on the losing end the last 3 times, sure, but it's always fun.

Bama has a $ Billionaire behind the curtain named Paul Bryant Jr.
I'm interested in this. How did PBJr. become a billionaire? I know he owns a bank, but billionaire? Really?

Every time saban has stayed put it has also gone down like this. The lsu fans love to cite the 2 times he's left for a better opportunity, but ignore that last 6 years where he's stayed put with an offer from a "better opportunity"
Texas, Penn State, Browns, Cowboys...we've been through this dance before, and every time it's the same schtick from every one else "but but but that's what he said at lsu and miami and then he left"
Like the man has said, "I'm too damn old to start over"

no offense, but the only one thats a better opportunity is texas
