In all honesty - this is probably it, though, win-lose-or-draw - he either takes this job (if Texas wants him at his price) or he extends however long at UAT for whatever his goals are for there - probably something like $8 million guaranteed, plus incentives.
That's why I believe it happens - this is his absolute last play - he's not going back to the NFL (few would take him), and while he would have his pick of NCAA jobs (USC was open to him, if ND, Michigan, ANYBODY, really, would be happy to talk to him) - but only Texas could straight up outbid everyone, including Bama.

He may stay, but it will be at a fairly steep price - this is his MO. I would say that I'm sorry ya'll have to deal with this every year but,
