Yep, F1’s way more lucrative & businesses aren’t going to leave $ on the table.
Which is why they probably scheduled Georgia here instead of any Mississippi or Alabama schools. At least Georgia has some wealthy alums and economic city centers where alumni can have high paying jobs with a pretty strong degree-- the upper crust of UGA can afford the trip.
Zero chance with the welfare states of the Old South (LA, AL, MS).
I wonder if those states even know what F1 is. They probably think it's an alchohol-infused energy drink.

The 1990 Houston game was different, our hair was on fire for that game and the atmosphere was incredible.
Was also there, amazing game.
But it's been loud plenty since then. K-State game in 2011, WVU game in 2012, (both night games btw), many others. I think with Big 12 we had too many 11am starts. Seems to be changing with SEC. DKR will be rocking on Sat.

Funny to hear this from (a) an aggy and (b) an aggy in Alaska where the ratio is something like 5 men per woman.

I’m a snowbird buddy. Been at the ranch and lease for the last two weeks. Thanks for your concern though.

The DKR experience is more of a carnival atmosphere instead of tailgaiting atmosphere. It is good just different than what you get at most SEC stadiums.

Just drive to the Capital Metro Park and Ride at Tech Ridge and take the 801 to campus. I do it every weekend. It will be an adventure.

There will be way more Dawg fans at the game than there were for Alabama, for whatever it's worth. It won't be a takeover like it was for the Notre Dame game, but there will be as arse ton od Dawg fans on Saturday night.

What a bunch of pretentious fricks. You know nothing about the south.

Really? Honestly? Better figure it out. Cause they comin’.
All you’re gonna hear all over Austin is “Dem Dawgs! Dem DAWGS!!!” all weekend. Rabid, hungry, drunken people with strange accents, dropping on all fours and yellin like “dawgs” in restaurants and hotels.
It’s really special.
UTrans maybe isn’t a good “fit” for the SEC.

There will be tailgating on almost every greenspace and available parking lot on campus and into the area south of MLK adjacent to campus between Lavaca to Red River all the way to 15th. Del Conte upped the ante on Game Day by adding Bevo Blvd and Longhorn City Limits which will feature a Spoon concert for the Georgia game. Gameday at DKR is tailgating, carnival and a music concert with the game as the topper.

Lol you are saying not fitting into acting like the homeless mentally ill is a bad thing. I think I’d probably cross the street and walk on the opposite side of the street if I saw 90% of this board IRL.

DKR is much louder with the south end zone closed in.
It was hot as hell an very loud for Alabama (11 am) and Georgia on a Saturday night will be a kick arse environment.
B12 also fricked up w/ F1 scheduling. At least a night game won’t have everyone on the roads at the same time.
The season ticket sales limited what was available to Alabama as a non-conference game, so I expect Georgia will have more people as an SEC game.
It’s gonna be fun having a big state schools coming to Austin.

quote:The F1 race, Eminem's only North American show combined with the UGA game will likely mean many Georgia fans (even those with the means) will bow out of this one unless they nailed down travel/hotel as soon as the schedule was released. Hope I'm wrong and they have as many dawgs as the tickets will allow, but I just can't see it happening.
I’m curious how many fans Georgia will bring. I’d imagine Austin was the game they had circled and I still remember how many fans they brought to Baton Rouge in 2018. Never seen anything like it, they took the town over that wknd.

I’ve been, it’s 10 kinds of awesome but was a logistical nightmare on its own. Just thinking about trying to get from point a to point b this weekend, with the game crowd on top of that, stresses me out, hard pass.
